Fertility appointment

Hi all,
I’ve had my letter through last week confirming my app at St George’s in London, fertility/ gynaecology on 20th January, I’m really worried now it’s gonna be cancelled cause of this new tier 4 COVID and I’ve already been waiting months on the referral. Has anyone else had this problem? Or because I’ll need to be examined will it need to be a face to face appointment? I know all my other apps for other health condition have been moved to telephone but surely fertility won’t be any use on the phone? Any other experiences or comments would much appreciated. Ta x

Depends what kind of fertility appointment.

I just had one with the recurrent miscarriage clinic near me that was one the phone and fine; I know the fertility clinic is doing all its booking-in consultations on the phone, and the ones where you sign paperwork are done remotely too.

It depends. I had a recurrent miscarriage appointment on the telephone at the end of November but I've also had a face to face gynecology appointment in the last couple of weeks ago following a miscarriage. To be honest that could've been on the phone too. Try not to worry too much. My first fertility appointment we just went through my GP tests and they ordered further testing, other than getting weighed that could have been done on the phone. That was pre-covid though.
Hope it goes ahead either way Flowers

Thanks very much, ladies, that's really helpful - mine is the first appointment my partner has tested as low sperm molitity and I have suspected PSOS- so like you say, they will probably just ask questions and then order further testing so probably be OK to do on the phone. P.S Sorry for the slow reply, I have no idea how this forum works and didn't see notifications lol. Hope all is well x
