M and S Christmas Food Order

Have never done this before but managed to get a slot. Is the order guaranteed or is it similar to supermarket online delivery where items can be out of stock or substituted?

What do you mean by a slot? Most of the Christmas collection slots went ages ago and most of the food has been unavailable for ages too.

Yes it’s guaranteed. Whatever you order will be there . Fab . I use it every year . Hassle free Christmas!

Are you sure you haven't just booked a slot to go into the foodhall at the stated time? They're doing that this year in order to limit numbers and guarantee people who book a slot.

I do the Christmas order every year. It’s always been there when I collected.

However one year the man informs of me had ordered a goose and it just wasn’t there. He was devastated. Christmas Eve.

Iv done this for several years. Only ever had a problem once where my turkey wasn't in one year, I think perhaps 2/3 years ago. But I wouldn't get my Christmas food from anywhere else, the food has always been delicious, pre prepared and saved me slogging away

I've ordered the food, weeks ago. Naively I tried to add to it yesterday and everything was OOS. I'm picking up on the afternoon of Xmas eve so not much time left for a plan B.
More reassuring that it's a traditional order system.

I never rely on Christmas orders. I much prefer elbowing my way through the teeming hordes.

I collected a Tesco’s order last night. Long list of stuff not available cranberry sauce, Brandy cream, Pringles, etc etc.

If it’s the proper food to order rather than a bog standard grocery order (like Tesco or ASDA etc) then yes its guaranteed and you pay a deposit as you check out to confirm the guarantee but I think it had to have been finalised by a certain date. I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure m&s said it was mid dec when I was doing mine.

I normally get one every year (book earlier the better) for a couple of things like desert for Christmas Day or extra things like a pie or vegetarian food or a couple of sides or party food to have on other days around Christmas but once I’ve chosen everything I don’t touch it again.
