What did Santa put your presents in as a child?

I don't remember there being special Santa stockings when I was young (I'm 39)

I used to leave out a pair of my mum's tights!

My cousins would use a pillowcase.

I had a sort of child-sized shopping bag - think one of those ones made of wipe-clean fabric. I think they're still at my dad's house; I'm rather put out to now not be going there as I'd planned to dig one out for the baby to use!

I had a pillow case. I never had a stocking. The stocking filler things were on the top of presents.

I'm 36 and we had Christmas stockings. as did all my cousins.

A friend of mines family used to all receive a white pillow case on Xmas eve to decorate and then it would be full of presents on Xmas day which I always thought was a nice tradition.

I’m 54 and we had stockings - Christmas ones made of net and trimmed with felt. They were quite big, from what I remember.

Yes, a pillow case. My kids have got stockings and it's impossible to fit presents in them. The selection box fits and that's about it!

Pillowcase. No stockings (not even as decorations)

A leg of tights here too. And then the rest of the presents on the sofa.

Real christmas stockings. I can remember a small hessian one that went on my bed and a larger red one with white fur trim that stayed downstairs.

Nothing, they were all built up and sitting out on the couch.

Stocking was a parent's long sock, and only had the little things, choc coins, satsuma etc. Proper gifts were never 'from' FC growing up, always from family, and were under the tree.

We just had school sock we put beside the bed always tried to get the longest sock to get more sweets in it. For under the tree we just had plastic bags with a piece of paper with are names stuck on it.

Pillow case for stocking fillers. Big FC gifts set up ready to play with in the lounge, gifts from family and friends under the tree.

I didn’t! They were under the tree.

Pillow case here for smaller things/ chocolate and satsumas. Bigger presents under the tree.

I can’t really remember presents being ‘from’ Father Christmas, I think he was always just some kind of delivery service!

I'm 52 and we had beautiful felt stockings on our bedroom door. They weren't that big, but that was good- room for small novelties, some blank cassettes, satsuma nuts and chocolate. Parent presents appeared in our rooms overnight, but they were not from Santa. Everything else under the tree, to be opened after breakfast.

Pillow case for me from Father Christmas, presents under tree from family. (I'm mid 50's)

@petitdonkey haaa yes we had my mum's old brown tights. Looking back she probably didn't want a nice pair getting ruined 😂

None of these personalised festive stockings with a fur trim the kids have these days.

40’s here and we had a stocking filled with smaller gifts and not wrapped. All other presents were left downstairs in a pile. My Father in his 70’s had a stocking but was his Father’s sock, so it isn’t a recent thing.

My siblings and I had lovely home made stockings, with our initials either embroidered or made from little stuck on flowers. I'm 53.

I'm late thirties and we had a knitted stocking each which hung on the door, and then a pillow case
Nothing went under the tree at all!

When I was born, My dgm knitted me 2 stockings for me with the shortened version of my name on it. Which caused comments for years to come.

She knitted 2 so that one was put out with mince pie and brandy etc and the other was hidden and what my dm put the presents in. Out of ear and eye shots then when I was in bed she'd swap the 2 around
