No. I thrive best with structure and order and people around me and have never wanted to be self employed or a full-time home-worker. I like having the flexibility to WFH on occasion when it suits me, but lockdown has taught me that I really miss the camaraderie of the office and bouncing off my colleagues and speaking with people face to face.

I know at the moment I could earn at least twice what I'm on now if I went on my own. The issue for me is the stability (as much as you can have at the moment), pension and perks wouldn't be included.

I'll stay a wage slave, albeit not a bad wage.

In a heartbeat, but i know i operate well in that way. My partner finds it very difficult and wouldnt want to.

This. Add to this that I really enjoy what I do, value the organisation that I work for and the opportunities that it offers & the doors that it opens. Being freelance would not offer those opportunities.

In a heartbeat. I'm desperate to leave my high stress, low paid SS job for a business I love but covid times are hard and we need my wage. We have agreed that I'll ideally quit before DD starts school though to help with hours, holidays etc. I'm literally counting down the days

I’m looking at doing this but I’m worried that I won’t be strict enough about keeping specific work hours and will leave stuff until close to the deadline then have to work evenings and weekends to get it done. I’d then obviously be kicking myself but I’m easily distracted until I’ve got the pressure of a deadline looming.

No I like a balance of home/work & the security of employment. I have a small commute though, huge plus!

Yes, I would happily do this. I'd love to work from home but my job isn't an option to do so....

Absolutely not. I have an NHS pension, I get the full amount of sick pay due to length of service. This is either 5 or 6 months (can’t remember which) full time money if off long term and then the same at half pay. I get 29 days a year plus 8 days a year annual leave. In 18 months it goes up to 33 days a year annual leave. Honestly, what’s not to like?

No, I like being employed. I tried being self employed and the grass wasn’t greener.
