How much trouble am I in? (Food poisoning)

DP made home made sushi.

I ate some with what I thought were black sesame seeds on it. Tasted weird. Turns out the black stuff was from an old jar of caviar DP found at the back of the fridge... that went out of date in 2017 envy (not envy)

What now? Am I going to die?

You’re probably dead already I would guess.

Sexnotgender Fri 18-Dec-20 17:49:41

You might. I’m awfully sorryflowers

Purplewithred Fri 18-Dec-20 17:50:12

But if you don't die you will never need another vaccination, or indeed antibiotic, for anything ever again.

("old jar of caviar???')

poorbuthappy Fri 18-Dec-20 17:51:50

Place marking for when it all kicks off....or falls out....or comes up.
Best of luck smile

TheInfected Fri 18-Dec-20 17:53:34

Drink loads of vodka to kill anything....?!?!!!?

ImRealHonest Fri 18-Dec-20 17:55:59

Commiserations. Sounds like death in a jar.

Pickypolly Fri 18-Dec-20 17:56:14

You are about to shit yourself to death.
Will you have a hot or cold buffet at your wake?

And who, on gods green earth has caviar in the back of a cupboard? Who?
I’ve got bisto at the back of mine.

Its like you've been part of a bushtucker trial

GymMat Fri 18-Dec-20 17:57:09

I'll join you ate undercooked chicken last night didnt notice untill half way through. Back cramps and sore stomach just now.

SapphosRock Fri 18-Dec-20 17:57:27

No vodka in the house. Just Baileys which I don't think will help matters.

If the jar was unopened you might be fine. I’ve been eating years out of date stuff from our cupboards since forever and never got sick blush

Caviar is a bit dodgy though, I’d be sticking my fingers down my throat to get rid I think!!!

Pinotwoman82 Fri 18-Dec-20 18:00:26

How much of it did you eat?

naturalyoghurtmuncher Fri 18-Dec-20 18:01:09

How much did you eat??

Stay near the toilet tonight, hope you dont have to fight dp for the toilet 🚽

chocolatesaltyxmaspudballs Fri 18-Dec-20 18:02:50

Ew, I once got food poisoning from langoustines in a paella in Spain. Was horrific. Up all night puking n shitting, didn't know which way to approach the toilet. Didn't even lose any weight either.

Hope you end up being ok?

Jingleq Fri 18-Dec-20 18:03:02

I would definitely be making myself sick 😂 thoughts are with you 😂 charcoal helps for poisoning so could be an option? Thoughts are with you. Your husband has a lot to answer for!

giletrouge Fri 18-Dec-20 18:06:36

OP, you will not die, but you will give birth to many tiny sturgeon.

Saz12 Fri 18-Dec-20 18:07:40

Try and make yourself vom. Then drink loads of water.

Or, just realise that tomorrow will be bad anyway, and drink the Christmas booze.

SapphosRock Fri 18-Dec-20 18:08:42

Made myself sick and hoping for the best...

DP thinks I'm being a drama queen.

Did it taste funny in an 'off' way or just odd because caviar is unfamiliar?
It might not be off even if past it's use by date.
Drink some water and see how you feel in an hour or two. Do you have any immodium or similar in the house?

ChablisandCrisps Fri 18-Dec-20 18:09:46

Oh no, this is a nightmare!!! shock get some baby wipes in the fridge now for your poor arse once the shits start and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
Godspeed OP gin

Biscusting Fri 18-Dec-20 18:11:14

I bet you’ll be fine

SapphosRock Fri 18-Dec-20 18:12:05

Never tried caviar before (I don't move in caviar eating circles + try and be mainly vegan) so I don't know if it was off or not. It tasted quite disgusting but then I can't imagine fish eggs would be pleasant.

Oh dear!

Passmeabottlemrjones Fri 18-Dec-20 18:14:03

Don't take immodium - it's only really meant to be used for emergencies (ie. When you can't guarantee a nearby bog) isn't it, it's grim stuff, and the reason you get the shits is to try and eliminate the toxins anyway.
