Gabriel in a Cabbage Van

Oldies here will get this but for those who don’t, a number of years ago a MN’er received their Christmas Ocado order from Jesus in a cabbage van.

Well today, although not yet advent(I dont think) I am getting my Ocado order from Gabriel in a cabbage van. I think, as a result, advent has started now, so I’m off to drink Sherry and behave badly.

Please make sure it is naice sherry.
Waits for newer MN members to pile on.

If it's Gabriel do you think you should be drinking?

At least with an Archangel you know he won't deliver you any wee wee with your shopping. That would never have happened with Waitrose

Who's Gabriel and What's he doing in a cabbage van.

Undoing the devil's work done back at the warehouse (where they pack the bleach, caustic soda, pulverised biscuits, sherry, and cracked eggs together in one bag Confused).

We don't need all those 'line eyes' threads. Just ask Gabriel in the cabbage van.

We had Cyprian in the Lemon van a while back. Seemed only appropriate in Plague season.

Anyone had the Percy Pig van yet?

Ahem, if you're beginning Advent, be aware it's actually a period of fasting and abstention before the big celebration...Wine

I had the Percy Pig van! I was far more excited than I should have been about it. It was a lady driver but sadly she wasn't called Penny

We had our Waitrose chap turn up in a plain white transit van recently. Oh the shame! The only saving grace was it was quite clean, (so no rude writing or drawings in the dust to further lower the tone), and at least he was still wearing a naice Waitrose branded gilet. Otherwise, what would the neighbours have thought?!

I am just wondering whether the OP has ordered any Angel Cake?

Incredibly jealous.
I’ve had the rather dull in comparison lemon van this week, though I was ID checked for a bag of bath salts....

Oh, me too! DH looked out of the window and said “Waitrose is here” and I scoffed. Then a be-gileted and masked man got out with a crate of shopping.
They’ve increased their delivery vans x 4 he told me, so they aren’t all liveried.

They'll be coming on the back of a camel soon, Saucery, or maybe a donkey.

This is how it started last time.
We could be in for a surprise this Christmas.
