No wonder I'm always knackered!

So just for fun I thought I'd write down everything I've done today as I'm bloody knackered! Not after any sympathy btw, just thought it would be interesting to do Smile

For a bit of background I work 3.5 days a week and have 5 DDs - 4 of them still living at home.

So today went like this:

-Got up around 6:45am - showered, dressed, make up etc
-Made lunch for 3 people
-Shouted at people to get up
-Let the dogs out and put the bins out
-Unloaded the dishwasher
-Shouted at people to get up (again) and nagged them to make their beds/eat breakfast/brush teeth (you get the gist)

  • Eventually made self a cup of tea
  • shooed 2x DDs out to college/school, dropped another at school
  • went to work where I was on a teams meeting allllllll day and lost the will to live
  • picked DDs up from school
  • walked the dogs
  • swept up some leaves and put more bloody bins out
  • put washing on
  • read with DD
  • cooked dinner
  • loaded the dishwasher
  • hung out first load of washing
  • nagged DD4 to tidy what passes for a bedroom
  • pit more bloody washing on
  • did spellings with another DD

I also only slept for about 4 hours last night as I think the dreaded pre-menopausal insomnia is kicking in.

Anyone else fell like they never bloody stop?!!!

And breathe! Hope everyone is having a good day.

@Gohackyourself I wish! I was merely doing it for fun, not to compete with anyone. I'd love some luxurious days off believe me! Fml 🤦‍♀️

Errr do your DC not help you?

I don’t understand why they don’t have chores to do?

That will resolve half the crap you have to do

@Ladywinesalot yes they do. As I said I just thought it would be interesting to note it down. Wish I hadn't bothered. Love your user name btw Wine

You need a sit down @CrazyFoxLady!

If your DDs are secondary age then they should've doing some of the jobs anyway - we've always been very cruel on the chores front Wink

Today I must confess I have done faff all as I had a day off. I did make a sandwich Halo

I do this sometimes. Run through in my head what I have done throughout the day.

Sounds more tiring than it is, for me anyway.

@BefuddledPerson thank you for not taking me too seriously. My DDs do help out and the youngest who's 10 does more than the other bless her!

Hope your sandwich was lush

@WingBingo yes just thought I'd write it down as it sounded worse when I thought about it.

Never mind I've got Wednesday off so I think I'll just lounge around all day in my silk pyjamas Grin

Good to hear they do chores, don’t feel bad about writting it down.

Write it down and assign the jobs to your dc.

You won’t feel as tired.

Chores for dc build life skills and make you function together as a family instead of killing you.

@CrazyFoxLady it was tongue in cheek !

Although I would love to only work 3.5 days a week, it is a luxury. But am sure there’s ppl here would give their right arm to work 3.5 or 5.
Enjoy, don’t be a hero.one day we will be sitting in a chair wishing we were back in these days.
There was a thread a looooong time ago on here , by an op who stated “ now I Hoover the carpet and the hoover marks stay there for weeks , instead of 5 mins with young kids about”. It stuck with me ever since

The sandwich was good actually, although annoyingly I felt morally obligated to also make one for DH which means no wraps left for tomorrow Angry

Enjoy the silk pyjamas!!

How old are the kids? Do you have a partner?

Could the kids make their own lunches? Would definitely get them doing some of the chores?

Also, if they are old enough, think that I would give them an alarm clock and make them responsible with getting themselves up and out: if they oversleep and miss a lesson, then it is a lesson in itself. The one who needs a lift would be going in their PJs (assuming we are talking senior school...).

Ahhh nearing the end of your day and wondering why you feel like you could just curl up and doze.

I currently am already snugged up in my house coat, yawning away merrily. (To only sleep for a few hours)

I have that , when I wonder why my feet are sore and I realise my bum hasn't touched a seat all day, there is always something to do.....so then I curl up with my DH after our DS and eat bus hits, chocolate and at the moment ..Marshmallows

I do love it like that (most of the time)

@LittleOverwhelmed I wasn't in any way complaining about the DCs, they are angels most of the time even though the 2 youngest are being a prize pain in the arse and won't go to sleep.

Just felt the need to vent I suppose. Thank you for the advice but that wasn't what I was looking for.

DH is currently at work whilst shopping online for Christmas presents - he's a good egg Grin

Well at least have a good Wednesday! Kids all old enough I think to make their own meals/get up themselves.

If they are around lunchtime - do something easy like tinned soup/beanson toast etc. Stay in pyjamas. Eat -what the hell are bus hits????

Assuming you have one
