Le Creuset pots and pans?

So boring sorry, but I plan to invest in a new set of pans as the cheap stainless steel ones I have are just awful. Looking at Le Creuset, would anyone recommend a cast iron saucepan , or the non stick ones? Or something completely different ? Thanks!

Ooh have a look at TKMaxx- they have lots of Le Creuset items and they're half the price.

We have the giant cast iron casserole dish and I think it's great. But I wouldn't use them as my standard every day pots as it's easy to bash pots around and cast iron breaks easily, even though it's lovely to cook with.

I love the casserole but wouldn't have the saucepans. Too heavy to move around the hob easily

Same. Love my casserole (have had it for years and it’s used all the time). But use stainless steel for everyday saucepans

We used to have the cast iron ones but they're SO heavy when full! We have the non stick ones now and they're brilliant.

I had non stick Coussance as a wedding present (non stick cast iron), but they weren't brilliant. I bought a set of Le Creuset saucepans when ds was 5, and they are still going strong and he is now 25.

My Le Creuset pans have been used on a cast iron hob, ceramic, cast iron, induction, ceramic again, and now we are back in the UK, back to the cast iron hob of the range.

Yes, they can be heavy, but then so can my IKEA stainless steel pans when they are full. I can slide them around the hob though..it's heavier lifting the lids on the hob than the pans at times.

I would never get the non stick le creuset. We have a full set, always hand washed. The non stick coating has gone around the rim where the metal lids go. The non stick on the inside is not looking great only 3 years after purchase.

The cast iron ones are too heavy in my opinion.

Their 3 ply stainless steel pans are so nice to use, I am slowly replacing my crap pans with them.

Absolutely no to cast iron pans, far too heavy.
I have two Le Creuset cast iron casseroles though, and tons of the stoneware and love it.
I like lighter pans, mine are from John Lewis.

I have a green something saucepans. Honestly. They are bloody phenomenal!!! They don’t have the black toxic stuff and are just brilliant. I’ll see if I can find a link.

There was a similar thread a few weeks ago, and loads of recommendations for the Sainsbury’s cast iron casserole pans- they have them well reduced at least once every quarter and they’re a fraction of the price of le creuset.

Le Creuset but the non stick, I had the cast iron ones but found them too heavy to carry once they had water in them. X

Our le Creuset pans have to be at least 30 years old and most get used 5 days/week (firstly on gas, now on induction). They are the ones with the cream insides. We did have a couple of non-stick frying pans, but the non-stick started to wear after about 5 years.

There are loads of saucepan sets on eBay. The ones with the wooden handles and the wooden stands will likely be 25-35 years old.

I also have the 30cm Aldi shallow casserole (you see this style a lot on cookery shows- great for risotto/paella). It is not quite as good (the knob on the lid isn't as heat tolerant- it has discoloured a bit) but they seem to be just as easy to cook in.

I've had mine for 20 + years and they are great on induction. They can be incredibly heavy though so I've kept the casserole dishes and sold of the saucepans on ebay a couple of years ago. The fetched good prices. They will last you forever.
