Does anyone have a home treadmill?

I’m trying to really improve my fitness at the moment and obviously gyms are shut right now which makes things a lot harder. I HATE running outside in the cold and wet so I’m just making excuses at the moment.

Does anyone have a home treadmill and is it any good? Ideally I’d like one that folds away so it doesn’t dominate the house however I’m not the skinniest at the moment so it needs to be robust Grin.

How have people found having one? Is it easier to use than dragging your star to the gym in normal times?

I have a crosstrainer. It doesn't fold away, so does take space, and it's a bit annoying. We have to keep it out of the way in the bedroom, and I always need to move some bits out of the way and drag it forward before using it. Having said that - I'm extremely thankful to have it in this second lockdown especially! It's not even a particularly good one, but it's the only proper cardio I'm getting done right now.

I have a treadmill, I love it and it does gets used by all of us, though not necessarily very consistently.

The best ones are fairly hefty, though, so do take up a lot of space

I've just bought one, the homcom 600w from amazon for £270 delivered. We like it, it folds away, goes up to 12km/h and doesn't feel unstable when using it. It has a max weight limit of 90kg, and doesn't have an incline. I'd say those are the only negatives, but so much cheaper and portable than others I looked at

I have just sold mine. I used to use it a lot in winter after work. Then I got a dog, so went out.

Then I got pregnant and it was used to hang clothes on. So it's gone.

I'm using one at the moment that I've borrowed from a friend as I'm isolating (I normally run outside about 4 times a week). For me, I hate it compared to outside running. However, if it's going to get you running then do it. You can zone out and watch rubbish TV and go at a pace you're comfortable with. They sell very quickly, especially at the moment, so you'll easy get rid if decide it's not for you or taking up too much room

We've got a foldable Reebok one, it doesn't take up a lot of space when folded but it is very heavy. Oh and it's excellent when the weather is crap.

Nope.
Don't need one.
Normal, everyday life is my treadmill.

I had a fold-up Bremshey treadmill. Used it loads, did my marathon-training long runs on it one year. Used it for walks while watching Netflix too. Happy times. Go for one with a decent sized deck and keep it where you'll remember/want to use it, not out of sight in a freezing garage.
