How to humanely get rid of rodents

Is that even possible?

We definitely have mice in the loft and wall cavities. No evidence of any in the house.

I heard a few last year (our first year in our house) but it didn't come to anything, but we have a couple which are persistent and noisy!

It goes against every fibre of my body to kill them.....is there another way?

I need to find out how they are getting in of course, that might be my first step.

I've looked at the ultrasonic transmitters but they apparently don't work through walls and ceilings so would be pretty pointless!

My parents had several mice in their house which they lived with quite happily . I had the job of getting rid of them so an overnight carer would be willing to stay there Initially I thought like you and got some humane traps After catching and releasing 8 of them and still hearing scratching I ended up getting pest control in .

But , I'm not sure really how humane the humane traps were , the little mice were obviously upset at being trapped and I had the choice of letting them go outside in the wilds where it was freezing cold and they probably wouldn't find food, or into someone's garden where I spotted a shed where they could get themselves comfortable , but hence passing the problem on to someone else (sorry random people)

The kindest thing is snap traps they are not set up for living in the wild and would die if they could find another house to live in 🤷‍♀️ im all for live and let live but rodents do a lot of damage to your house
