Had it before but can't remember and can't find menu!
It's sweet and sour prawns, but the prawns are only slightly breaded. Not in masses of batter. Anyone know what I mean?

Tempura prawns? Tempura is a light battery not like the batter you would get on standard chicken balls

Don't think so but thank you
Could it be kung po - is that sweet and sour?

Sweet and sour Hong Kong style?

I've had salt and pepper prawns that were as you described - a light crispy coating, not proper thick batter.

Cantonese style/Hong Kong style? Kung Po is slightly spicier sweet & sour.

Look online for the takeaway you use's menu - it might ring some bells! Or look at any Chinese takeaway menu online - they tend to offer more or less the same thing.
I hope you find it!

Hong Kong or Cantonese's style.

I get the sauce separate so the chicken stays nice and crispy and just spoon the sauce over when I serve it 😋

I went for Kung Po and it was nice but the prawns weren't breaded.
Will try cantonese/hongkong next time - thank you!
