What can I do in Leeds for the weekend with two teens please?

both v interested in military stuff so I'm assuming the Armoury is good?
(is it modern miliatary stuff or lots of medieval horse armour?)

anything else that might be exciting (desperate you see...)

Armouries has a full range of stuff, though yes, lots of ancient bits in with the modern. I've been a few times with kids of all ages, never quite 'got' it tbh.

Bowling, skating (near Elland Road), couple of trampoline places. Lots of shops, good for window shopping! Get a water taxi from the centre to the Dock for the armouries.

Ah, the Armouries is a water taxi ride away from the station?
sounds fun!
they won't do bowling skating or window shopping (tech obsessed)
might pop into a CEX shop, I guess!

If you go to the Armouries then you can see lots of things, on a Halloween footing, I saw a pair of gloves there that had been worn in battle in one of the exhibits. It was possible to try them on, it was a creepy experience. Leeds is a very old place, there is a lot of history there.

The Armouries is fantastic, there are loads of medieval exhibits.

Looks like Leeds might be going into tier 3 soon

For somewhere to eat there's a pub in a canal boat in the middle of the street called dry dock. And a sci fi pub/cafe called FAB.

Walk up to the uni and have a wander to inspire them to go there? Lol

Leeds is a good 4 hours from Edinburgh, 200+ miles.

Where are you travelling to/from op?

Yes, that was a typo, sorry it is indeed further than that.

I reckon a spooky day in Edinburgh might be the thing.

Is FAB cafe still there? I met my other half in there many moons ago but haven't lived in Leeds for years now.

Ah, that's a shame. I was gutted when I found out the Cockpit had gone, I spent many a happy hour in a drunken haze in that place.

@clementine loved the cockpit 😒 Carpe Diem has gone too.

The nights that were in the cockpit are now in the Keys Club at the merrion centre. Haven't been in years though, probably too old now!
