This post is going to be one long whinge, so please be warned & accept my apologies 😬
I am struggling a lot today. I'm in a Tier 2 area & there are 5 of us, so it pretty much means that half term is just us. DS1 is in Year 7 (nearly 12) so can go out with his mates for a couple of hours, which is a saving grace, but that's about it. Yet I am seeing on Facebook that people are travelling to the nearest Tier 1 place (maybe 15 miles) & meeting friends/family inside there. We cannot risk it as we are skint & cannot risk a £200 fine, it would break us. One friend has just been telling me about her DC sleeping over at Grandma's (they are a support bubble, so it's allowed) but my DC can't even step in their grandparents' house
It is also tough because we are skint & about to get skinter (if that is a word!) Neither of us have worked much since March & now our mortgage break is ending. DH has started a degree to retrain, so I'm worried that his student loan will affect what UC we can get. I am selling everything I can, but I haven't got lots of time to sort it all out & it's only a few £ here & there. This also limits what we can do atm.
DH also has health stuff going on & his mum has worsening dementia, which he is finding tough. There is other stuff too, but I'd be here all day if I wrote it all down!
Anyway, writing all this I know I need to buck my ideas up. None of us are ill & the boys are doing well at school. DS2 has good support in place for his autism. Our food cupboards are well-stocked, at least for now, so we are not going hungry. And we live in a lovely village with plenty to do nearby. Moan over!
