Really struggling today!

This post is going to be one long whinge, so please be warned & accept my apologies 😬

I am struggling a lot today. I'm in a Tier 2 area & there are 5 of us, so it pretty much means that half term is just us. DS1 is in Year 7 (nearly 12) so can go out with his mates for a couple of hours, which is a saving grace, but that's about it. Yet I am seeing on Facebook that people are travelling to the nearest Tier 1 place (maybe 15 miles) & meeting friends/family inside there. We cannot risk it as we are skint & cannot risk a £200 fine, it would break us. One friend has just been telling me about her DC sleeping over at Grandma's (they are a support bubble, so it's allowed) but my DC can't even step in their grandparents' house Sad

It is also tough because we are skint & about to get skinter (if that is a word!) Neither of us have worked much since March & now our mortgage break is ending. DH has started a degree to retrain, so I'm worried that his student loan will affect what UC we can get. I am selling everything I can, but I haven't got lots of time to sort it all out & it's only a few £ here & there. This also limits what we can do atm.

DH also has health stuff going on & his mum has worsening dementia, which he is finding tough. There is other stuff too, but I'd be here all day if I wrote it all down!

Anyway, writing all this I know I need to buck my ideas up. None of us are ill & the boys are doing well at school. DS2 has good support in place for his autism. Our food cupboards are well-stocked, at least for now, so we are not going hungry. And we live in a lovely village with plenty to do nearby. Moan over!

Sending you love I'm so sorry you're so miserable and struggling so much

I wash my sheets and use loads of softener on them when I'm low and it helps me feel more cosy

Can you do some baking or cooking? Xx

Thank you cultkid. My sheets are due a wash actually but can't get them dry as it's raining & I already have 2 loads drying inside Hmm

We have plenty of crafts & baking planned & a walk tomorrow if it is dry, but the DC are really missing friends & family & it is so tough that other people all around us are seeing theirs Sad They don't necessarily understand it, tbh. At least they are back at school next week & can see friends then.

Just been to the library with the boys. Was hard work with them all as ASD DS2 is hard in those situations, but at least we got out & got some fresh air & bumped into a friend.
