Today I'm trying to make myself feel better by

Cleaning the house, really cracking on and scrubbing everything.

Everyone is moody, tired, a bit anxious (adults). Kids can't seem to settle to do very much. They keep niggling, we offer to play with them then they have a strop over nothing.

I'm sure in a couple of days they will have recharged a bit and will be nicer to be around but in the meantime I'm sorting out this shit tip. Strangely satisfying.

Good for you!

I planned to do similar but I'm really struggling at the moment. I feel utterly stultified and can't drag myself to do anything.

I hope you feel better for it.

... buying Xmas presents.
I've come home happy with my purchases and am going to wrap them.
I feel better when I feel organised.

Funnily enough, everyone is the same in my house. Exhausted, snippety...all the kids want to do is watch tv or minecraft and to be honest I feel the same!

It has been a long half term (I work in school too) and everyone is shattered. I'm not expecting too much from this week apart from some good meals (I like cooking) and resting and sleeping.

Enjoy the therapeutic clean! (I did mine on Friday - inset - it was so good to end up with a fresh house!)

@AutumnShrubs I feel the same Thanks I've spent most of the day in bed hibernating. I've had enough. Going to phone GP in the morning.

Yes I’ve done a few much needed jobs around the house too. Going to cook a comforting mac n cheese later. Going away to Norfolk tomorrow for a few days, our one and only holiday this year. Really hoping we manage to relax and unwind, Dh is NHS and I work in a school- we are both totally frazzled!

Horrible weather yesterday so got kids involved with stripping beds and tidying in morning... After a few hours on x box we then cleaned and made beds. This made me feel great for half term.

Today nicer so hit beach for few hours... Windy and cold but the sun came out for a bit. We all felt better for that.

Very little planned for this week and most evening things cancelled so we are going to hibernate.. One lot of baking, a bike ride and games afternoon promised but that's it for next 10 days

I got up early (well before everyone else) and watched Rebecca while drinking coffee and listening to the rain. I don’t think I’ve ever watched a film in the morning before! It was lovely.
Went for a walk with the family as the weather got brighter. We all feel a bit better after that.
Going to cook dinner now (roast chicken thighs, potatoes, carrots, sprouts) and we’ll have a proper dessert (lemon syrup sponge and custard)

I think I'm going to too. It's been a long time since I last had ADs (probably 5 or 6 years). Sad it feels like I'm approaching that time again.

Flowers to those feeling down. I've been there and take high dose ADs now. Vitamin D is good for this time of year too.

I popped round to see a friend (tier 1 area) and inspired by this thread will be making macaroni cheese soon... Yum!

Back to work and school tomorrow for us. Everyone is pretty grumpy about it. Spent the day decluttering and tidying. Got estate agents coming this week to value and quote on the house.

We did make card bats and also had Halloween cakes too and we watched kindergarten cop this evening.

Same here Autumnshrubs I had the best of intentions at the start of the day, but it was dark and overcast and I just couldn't motivate myself. I'm struggling too ATM. I think it's the fact that there is so little contrast between holiday and term time ATM (we've had quarantining X 2 already this term) that is getting me down. Much as I love them, even Christmas will be "same people, same place". Hope that doesn't sound too awful.

I always try and find things round the house to do when I'm feeling stressed or anxious, too. I'm thinking this week's anxiety buster will be doing my Christmas shopping, but to be honest I'm struggling to find the motivation for that because the logistics of Christmas this year are just so up in the air, none of us know what we'll be doing or who we'll be able to see .. it's crazy. But yeah, I think I'll go forward with positivity and buy presents regardless.
