What is in your regular weekly shop?

Just wondering what you get in your regular weekly shop? Or what you would get if you did it weekly! I don't want to keep dragging the kids out for little shops, so trying to do one big shop to last a week when I have some child free time, and no top ups! I can freeze some milk and bread so I've got that covered.

Flour, eggs, meat, fish, veg, lactose free dairy, organic butter, oven chips, fish and cucumber sandwiches, spices, hot cross buns. Wine. Crisps, nuts and prawn crackers.

Just food, basically, with everyone's dietary foibles catered to, hence some oddly specific foods.

And a giant box of daz every 2-3 weeks.

You might find it helpful to menu plan if you want to be able to go longer between shops, btw.

Always potatoes, bacon, chicken breasts, cheese, eggs, peppers and tomatoes...can always conjure up a meal with those things!

I always like some kind of breaded chicken, veg, chips, mash in the freezer for quick, emergency meals

Bread, milk, cheese, butter, orange juice, biscuits. Plus anything we need from toiletries, cleaning products, tins, frozen, dried goods, nuts.
I have a weekly fruit and veg box and order meat and fish to be delivered from the butchers and fishmonger when the freezer is getting low.

Family know that if it's not on the list when I do the weekly shop, they'll be going themselves or (more likely) waiting till next week.

Eggs, fish, chicken thighs, hot sauce (I eat a lot!), jalapeños, tenderstem, spinach, other green veg that’s in season, whole milk, almond milk, butter, salad bits, seeded bread, cheese, seafood, kefir, orgorki kiszone, pierogi, cucumbers, sour cream, grouts, crisps, fruit, herring.

That’s roughly what we base our meals around. Dp is Polish so it’s a mix of cuisines.

Lettuce, cucumber, spring onions and fresh egg noodles.

Have a look into a milkman, we only do one big shop now and then get milk and bread delivered. It’s saved me so much money in topups.

We meal plan so I get all the ingredients for whatever we are eating and then breakfast: cereal, yogurt, bread, bagels, Fruit, juice. Lunch: beans, cheese, salad bits, eggs, cooked pasta, pesto/sauce, kids crisps, spreads, bread/wraps, ham Dinner: see above. Other bits: wine, treats, nappies/toiletries/household, snacks

All the fresh food we are going to eat during the week plus any store cupboard items which need replenishing. Surely it depends on what you eat?

We tend to do a fortnightly online shop, then buy bits and pieces in between. Just two adults and one cat though. Standard shopping order tends to be:

Mince
Bacon
Sausages
Pancetta
Chorizo
Stuffed pasta
Eggs
Bread/buns
Milk

Peppers
Broccoli
Onions
Courgettes
Carrots

Tinned tomatoes
Tinned chickpeas
Baked beans
Spaghetti hoops
Tinned soup
Coconut milk

Not every shop, but frozen/cupboard:

Veggie burgers
Vegetarian sausages
Peas
Chicken pies
Chicken breasts
Rice
Pasta

Cat food
Loo roll
Teabags

We buy bread and milk during the week, plus salad, fruit etc. Because of WFH we are buying more tinned lunch type stuff, beans on toast, soup etc.

We do a meal plan on a Sunday.

Getting a milkman and deliveries from our local farm has saved me a fortune in petrol and general shopping as I only ever get what we need, no temptation buys.

Fruit - bananas, apples and pears (I put some of the bananas in the fridge and get them out mid week. The skins look ropey but they are fine on the inside)
Veg - carrots and broccoli
Salad - lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and peppers

Meat - chicken, pork steaks, beef mince, sausages, bacon and fish
Dairy - milk, eggs, butter, cheese, yoghurts and mousses
Chilled - cooked meats (ham and chicken), pizza and garlic bread, steak pie, fruit juice.

Bakery - bread and bread rolls, gingerbread people for the kids as a weekend treat.

Freezer - oven chips, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, peas and ice cream also have frozen carrots and broccoli as they don’t last in fridge for full week. I have frozen onions, peppers and mushrooms which go in a Spag Bol once a week, plus you don’t have all the chopping and peeling.

Food cupboard - breakfast cereal, baked beans, soups, biscuits, crisps, passatta, custard - I buy weekly
teabags, coffee, hot choc, sugar, flour, jam, gravy granules, stock cubes, tomato ketchup, kids squash, pasta - I buy a new one probably every two to three weeks or whenever I open a new packet.

I have to keep a notebook as my shopping list book in my kitchen and as soon as I’ve opened a new packet of something I write it down to go on next week’s shopping otherwise I forget.
