What's the easiest way to remove the flesh from pumpkins??

That doesn't involve power tools as shown in several youtube videos (I'd try it but don't want to break my stand mixer attachments!).

Any ideas apart from a big spoon & just scrape away at it? :)

Big spoon, scrape. Or rubber glove, scoop.

How big is your pumpkin though? If it's a frankenpumpkin you may need to use a wet vac.

Um, normal sized.

Actually, they're a bit bigger than I usually buy. My friend bought them from a farm shop for me while she was there. They even have mud still attached that needs washing off.

I'll stick to spoon & scrape. Maybe the girls will take a turn this year 🤔🤔

I just cut it into fairly small chunks and slice the skin off with a sharp knife.
Never have a huge one though, it’s always the one that was in the window, made into a Thai style soup the next day - lots of chilli, ginger and garlic, plus a can of coconut milk, yum.

You can get wee pumpkin carving sets that come with a plastic scoop thing. They are normally quite useful for removing flesh. They also come with little saws/knives to help with carving

MrsWhites I don't have a normal electric whisk - I never replaced that or the hand mixer when they broke, just use the big one for everything.

I might have one of those about dementedpixie, I'll have a look and see.

I use a metal ice cream scoop. Much more effective than a spoon.

I use a Dremel multi-tool. Cost about £30 and is fantastically useful for loads of fiddly household jobs, not just pumpkin carving.

Most pumpkins unless culinary ones are grown to not have much flesh.

We use a sturdy circular metal cookie cutter, once you've cleared out the seeds and stringy goop, you can use it to scrape out the flesh in decent sized chunks.
