Hello,
This is my first time posting on a forum but I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I feel I'm going crazy :( I have an 8 month old who has never slept well at night and wakes up every hour or 2. I cannot get any sleep at all! I'm tired, angry and unhappy all the time. Baby is breastfed with a tiny bit of formula and eats solids quite well. Very healthy boy, very happy. Please don't tell me to sleep when the baby sleeps as I also have a toddler! 😩 Any tips? Thanks so much 🙏 💓

Have you tried co sleeping? It saved me with my second baby

Sleep training. the ferber method saved my life (there are other methods)

My 2nd babe was like this and in the end I gave up breastfeeding her at night as I realised she was using me as a dummy. For a few nights DH went to settle her every time she woke and we gave formula as her last feed. It was the beginning of the end for breastfeeding but I was pretty ready anyway by then. I know how exhausting it is, good luck with whatever approach you try, it's very personal I think and only you know what's best for your family Thanks

I coslept, dh slept in spare room, and I went to bed really early (before 8am some nights) to catch up on sleep.

What sleep training techniques have you already tried so we can suggest something else?

Cosleeping here to try to get some semblance of sleep. Will baby take a dummy? Is baby crawling yet? I found DC1 started sleeping much better when he was moving, is that on the horizon?

Sorry OP it's exhausting and I feel your pain (tho I'm only at 4 months!)

Hi OP, firstly, sympathies!

Have you tried any form of sleep training? (Ferber method was amazing for us!)

Or how about co sleeping? (It’s not for me but could it be an option for you?)

I'm sorry you're dealing with this, I think unless you've had a long term non sleeping baby it's hard to understand how existing it is, especially with more than one to look after.

My first never did longer than 2 hours till she was 14 months, mostly it was 45 minute stints. I didn't want to sleep train but I tried a few things anyway, it didn't help us. I found the only solution wad cosleeping, at 8mo she would help herself to milk and I'd more or less sleep through it. Saved my sanity until she finally started sleeping.

Thank you everyone for your comments.
I'm going to try cosleeping, see if that works.

I also find he will sometimes wake in the middle of the night and be fully-awake and it takes a long time for him to go back to sleep.

:(

My first boy was ok-ish with sleeping and from 11 months until now, sleeps through the night in his own bedroom. Amazing how each baby is different 🥰

Good luck OP. Sleep deprivation is horrible.

Does baby really need bf, formula and solids? That just seems a lot? Are they having the right amounts?
