Why do I always get charged more at the post office?

Has this happened to anyone else?

I frequently send parcels. Mon- fri it costs £7.50 for next day delivery. On a Friday it cost over £14 for the same item to be delivered on the Saturday. I know I get a extra charge for a Saturday delivery but I also get another extra charge of £2-£3 if I post on a Friday .

Also a friend of mine has posted an item of the same value to me on a Friday and wasn't charged the extra but I still got it Saturday. She did this at a post office in a different town to me.

Does anyone know why I'm being charged so much when others aren't? This is all for the same items, same size weight and delivery options.

No. Have you looked online T their charges? Are you paying too much or her too little?

Some PO's manage to add extra to the weight of things by pressing the scales to inflate prices, or will sell you signed for services you don't ask for if you appear not to know how things work.

Some are honest and will tell you if you have put too many stamps on your parcel and will upgrade it to the next tier.

I weigh my parcels, write the weight on, then get the price from the Royal Mail site and put the stamps on. I also have a stock of old recorded delivery stickers so I can keep a note of the tracking. I also ask for a POP for everything.

They know if you know what's what and don't try it on. You are either looking up the wrong price or they are, or they are trying it on.

Thanks, I've realised when the cashier asks me the value of the item I've been very foolish and rounded it up. That's why I've been charged the higher price.
