Funny, we have Yorkshire teabags at work and I would swear they’re round Confused

Thank you.

It’s a very boring back story but basically our tea has started tasting disgusting and I wanted to rule out having mixed up the bags with an inferior bag whilst decanting.

Next question: Now that I’ve ruled out having accidentally filled the caddy with lockdown substitution tea does anyone have any idea why our tea has suddenly started tasting gross?

Have you recently de-scaled the kettle? Bleached your cups?

Is this the only thing that tastes wrong?

Is it just you? When dh had Covid he could not bear the taste of tea and didn't drink any for about 10 days, whereas normally he's a several mugs a day man.

Don't get me started on Yorkshire Tea. In Yorkshire we call it 'having a cup of tea, or' mashing the tea' if it's in a pot. Yorkshire people do not have 'a brew'.
I hate those stupid adverts with a passion because they were made by clueless idiots

Are you pregnant? I couldn't stand tea when I was pregnant.

I wondered if you are pregnant too. I'm a tea addict (my parents put it in my bottle!) but couldn't bear it when I was pregnant.

I'm from Yorkshire and I have a brew!

OP could you be pregnant? Tea tasted like ash when I was pg with DC3 it one of the first signs.

Maybe you've just gone off it though, we used Tetley for years, we ran out one day and the corner shop only had Yorkshire after that Tetley never tasted right again so we moved to Yorkshire Tea.

Have you accidentally bought hard water teabags instead of soft water or vice versa?

I find my taste buds get used to tea after a while - a tea that I've really enjoyed for months starts tasting not so great. If I buy another brand then go back to the original after a few months, I find I enjoy it again.

I only drink Earl Grey tea, but had to get Yorkshire tea in the local shop the other day, as they had no Earl Grey, But despite drinking Yorkshire tea years ago, this Yorkshire tea tasted not as good as I remembered, and seemed to have less tea in the sachets than before.

It might be that I am now so used to Earl Grey, and the slightly fragrant taste, that no other tea tastes right, I only drink tea black, no milk, so you get the flavours of tea better, and can judge what tea is which.
