What's sofa shopping like with Covid ?

Can I flick through the fabric books as I want to match to a fabric sample I have for an insisting sofa? Was thinking DFS and there also
SCS near it but is that downmarket? Is it all
normal out there just with masks. I have a youngish baby, I don't get out much Grin

Recently been to a big DFS. Went on a weekday morning.

No problems. Masks obviously but can sit on sofas, look through and touch swatches. Neither staff nor other customers got too close.

Take your own pen.

(Bought a corner sofa and reclining chair with footstool, very excited!

I was in DFS Saturday afternoon. Was fine - a few people there, all in masks but as pp said you could sit on couches and touch things. Hand sanitizer dotted round and staff all in masks but helpful.

Was in sofology too and they had all the fabric swatch book thingies out.

No masks on all staff at the sofa shops I went to, but perhaps they have underlying conditions that prevent them from doing so. All felt very safe and normal, there weren’t heaps of people and plenty of space to distance and hand sanitiser as PP said.

They told us we’ve missed guaranteed Christmas delivery though, so if you want it by Christmas go ASAP as DFS are still aiming for Christmas. Another place we went to said forgot about until February!

I need to do this too.

Dreading it. Not the Covid factor, just shopping for sofas. 🙇🏻‍♀️

Thanks all

People get sofas for Christmas hmmm?! Hadn't considered the lead time was so long. Won't tell DH to shift the old one out yet Grin

Went to Oak Furniture Land.
Had to sanitise and wear rubber gloves provided. Had to then ask for fabric samples if I wanted them.
Felt v safe.

Still ordered one online from IKEA though!! Wanted washable covers and nowhere else does them.
