Sardines....hot or cold?

I like them cold from the tin (olive oil and chilli ones) on hot buttered toast
..

Dh makes a fuss and grills them. They are nice hot. But equally nice cold. He looks at me like I’m mad.

Hot.

I do not think I would like a cold sardine.

Would never have butter with tinned sardines though! I like them with chilli oil and tomatoes or cucumber.

Straight from the tin, I love sardines in chilli oil. Tesco discontinued them years ago but I occasionally have a hopeful look to see if they have brought them back. Any other kind of chilli sardines don't quite live up to them with chilli and lime or some such ingredient.

My go to lazy comfort food was cooked rice with sardines and chilli oil mixed right in.

Always cold straight from the tin, I have never even thought about warming them but it does sound nice!

Waitrose Sardine Picante are the dogs bollox. We can't get them any more where we are but the Sainsbury's ones aren't half bad.

It had never occurred to me to heat them till DH did - and they are nice hot. But I also like the cold sardine and hot toast combo.

Also like them hot stirred into pasta.
