What's good from Avon?

Darkestseasonofall · 29/09/2020 14:01

My friend has started selling Avon, she's a bit short of money so I'm going to buy a few bits each month to support her (and who doesn't need toiletries anyway).
I've never bought anything from them before, are there any must haves?

The mark eyebrow gel and mascara the shower gels and bubble baths . The bras used to be good but I'm not sure they still do them. They have 5 for £5 offers which are usually good . The power stay foundation and 16 hour liquid lip does stay on .,

I know you want to support her, and that's lovely, but be aware that Avon is an MLM so be wary that this doesn't escalate, and potentially your friend could lose money...

The leave in, spray on conditioner for curly hair is fab.

The big bottles of bubble bath are good too. As are all the Christmas special gifts

Thanks for the recommendations.
@trouncedaast I assumed Avon was fairly reputable as its been going for donkeys, it's surely not in league with those those stupid drinks and aloe gels and things is it?

Nothing. Avon test on animals unfortunately.

Their clothing is ok ish.

All the skincare and makeup is absolute cheap toxic shit that I wouldn't let near me. The overall parent company also test on animals, even with a very carefully worded section in UK catalogues that makes it sound like they don't.

Skin so soft dry oil -
Removes sticky stuff
Removes gloss paint from your hands / paintbrush
Repels mosquitos
Moisturises skin/ hair

It’s like a magic solution

But Avon test on animals so bear that in mind

Perceive perfume is a really nice delicate day time perfume.

Avon isn't a MLM cult I don't think. Other MLM's require boss mums to lie and pretend they've bought a BMW for cash two weeks after starting in order to recruit others. I don't think Avon put pressure on people to recruit, just sell, although I could be wrong

Hand creams- these are great. I love ordering from Avon!
Beware though- the gifts always look better in the catalog.
Stick to household stuff like bubble bath.

The nail varnishes are excellent and bubble baths are really good in the big bottles.

Former Avon and aloe goop MLM bot here, reformed on all fronts. The two are vastly different IMO. Your friend can make money selling Avon. Not much, but a small and steady additional income. She doesn't have to try to recruit people. Most Avon reps don't. If she gets interested in that side then maybe get concerned.

Forever selling shyte and all the others are far more pushy about recruitment and she will lose money.

Avon used to have the cruelty free rabbit all over it, sad to hear it's no longer Sad

I currently buy their alcohol hand gels from them. The big pump bottles are decent value and at 64% alcohol they are over the magic 60% to kill corona without being drying.

Bubble bath is nice.

Apricot and shea leave in conditioner (I have this on a repeat order from my avon lady)

The Pj's are fab, but I always wait for them to be on sale.

Nail varnish is ok too.

If you look for the deals you can pick up a few bits without breaking the bank yourself.

Just found this thread as I was looking for any recommendations and as it's been commented a few times on here, thought I'd share.

Avon is working on their cruelty free standing - no longer testing on animals

As said above it is a predatory MLM, and they test on animals so I would buy nothing.
Your friend is very likely to lose money. Buying stuff off her only prolongs the agony for her.
