DH and I are separating but living together for goodness only knows how long because of Covid-19. It could be a year or more like this.

I'm going to take the opportunity to focus on me and rediscover what I like.

So far I've got:

Listening to podcasts
Seeing friends - I've got some lovely ones so not short of people to go for a coffee with
Reading a book
Sitting in the garden with a book (or more likely Mumsnetting on my phone)
Bike rides
Swimming
Spending quality time with the DC out of the house
Going for a blustery walk on the beach (rare as we are two hours away)
Having a bath once the kids are in bed on a day when I have cleaned the bathroom and it is all sparkling!

What do you like doing that I can steal?

Clean bedding
Eating treat foods - DP can’t stand the smell of those lime & coriander popadom sensations but he’s away tonight so I’m enjoying a big sharing bag

Anticipating treat foods is definitely a favourite.

And browsing at the farm shop looking at their tasty goodies.

Walking through my own front door, realising how proud I should be of myself, and not have to treat on eggshells in my own. It literally makes me smile every single day.

@WhatInFreshHell - I can't WAIT until I can feel like that.

Walking the dogs and watching them frolic and play together, so cute

Reading a really good book under a blanket with a glass of red

Lighting a fire and some lovely fragranced candles and putting lots of lamps on

Having a really hot shower with lovely smelling shower gel and then getting into bed with fresh linen

Wearing luxurious loungewear around the house, cashmere socks and hoodies

Roasting a tin of smashed baby potatoes in truffle oil, sea salt and rosemary and stuffing my face with them watching a good thriller type series on Netflix (like 'The Fall')

Putting on loud dance music and dancing around the house like a loon

The first cup of coffee of the day drank in bed

Fairy lights twinkling everywhere around the house as if it had been decorated by a 14 yr old girl

Friday night red wine and movie / Saturday morning lie in / Sunday morning long walk in the woods

My husband buying me flowers every Friday since we married.
My husband bringing me tea inbed every morning since we married
My dog nibbling my ears gently each morning,
Freshly laundered and starched sheets each week.
A glass of wine in the hot tub
Waking up and realising it’s my non-working day every other Friday.
Upsetting Alexa with rude words.
Swimming in water that is cold enough to give a tingling glow when you get out.
Singing in the car.

Clean bed, all the washing and ironing done and at the moment our heating is playing up so in a nice clean bed, with a hot water bottle and a cup of tea. Lovely. X

DP was away last night and he has no appreciation for fresh bedding so it was so lovely to have fresh sheets and the whole bed to myself!
I’m now eating Moams for breakfast which he definitely wouldn’t approve of!
