Ideas to entertain Grandma in care home

DanceToTheMusicInMyHead · 24/09/2020 12:29

My 91 year old Grandma has been in lockdown in her care home since early March. Due to local restrictions she has barely had any visitors the entire period, and most social activities in the home have been cancelled to avoid residents mixing. Quite understandably she's really bored.

She has a TV, and a radio (though she rarely uses it). Has anyone got ideas of things we could send in to occupy her? Her eyesight is really poor so things like reading or craft may be tricky for her.

Have you looked at the RNIB talking book scheme?

I'd say talking books too , or depending on her eyesight you can buy crossword / puzzle books in large print

Thanks for the suggestions. She has always refused talking books in the past as they are for old people Grin I will revisit tht with her though. Didn't know they did large print crosswords- I'll look for some- thanks!

here's some www.amazon.co.uk/s?ref=nb_sb_noss_2&k=large%20print%20crosswords%20puzzles&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

I scanned down and given what she said, you may wish to avoid the one called "Brain workouts for seniors" Grin
