I'm really bad for waffling and including too much details so I'll try and keep it compact and answer any questions that come up.

The principal has staggered pick-up times. DDs class is 2.20, next class is 2.30 etc. He has also staggered pick up parking, DD class we park around the school (in purple), next class on the road (in blue) etc.

BUT he's also not opening the gate so we can park around the school until 2.20 so there are cars queueing up on the road, waiting for the gate to open which is chaos waiting to happen. Today DD was out of her class before the gate was even opened. I want to just park on the side of the road. Would it be awkward to do this until something is sorted regarding the opening time of the gate?

This is a country school. There is very limited parking in general. 2 cars can pass but if a tractor is coming then you have to squeeze in a bit. At the moment if a tractor came (especially with a trailer) it just couldn't pass.

Gates need to open before school ends. Or they give your class road parking, as the ext class the car park.

It does seem over complicated though... Do you need to move parking spaces to get siblings?

Aroundtheworldin80moves Older siblings are released with younger ones. DDs class is one of the first to be collected (she's 7, in 1st class), so if she had an older sibling they would be released the same time as DD.

BonnieMcflurry We live 10 miles away on narrow windy country roads, not an option.

Ride a bike ? Park mile down the road and walk ? Like surely parking outside the school not good for the children health

Bonnie There is no other parking. I also have a 3 year old. Cycling is not an option. To be honest, I'm not looking for alternative options on how to get to school. This is the Irish countryside, it is what it is. I'm just wondering if i'm being awkard to park on the side of the road.

Just park on the side of the road and be out of your car for the minimum amount of time. The tractors will wait, or beep their horns, and eventually will learn to avoid the school at 3pm. You’re not going to be long, and most country folk are used to waiting for sheep to cross or lorries to turn imo.

We used to go on a school bus down a single track road with no passing spaces for 1/2 mile. Everyone knew to avoid the road at that time. Well, mostly everyone.
