Daith piercing for migraine?

Has anyone had this done? Does it work? I’m desperate and currently suffering massively. Does it matter if you get it done in a migraine clinic? Or just a decent piercers?

There’s no clinical evidence for this, so I’m not sure a reputable migraine clinic would offer it?

Migraine clinic won’t offer it! A piercing studio would take your money but there’s nothing other than anecdata to back up claims.

The London Migraine Clinic and another company appear to be running it as long term studies. Neurologists have told me that no one knows what causes migraines or how to ensure they stop so I’ll try anything.

Well I have had one for two years. I just did it because I like it tho, I've never had a migraine - sorry not to be able to help with that. But I love the piercing and it didn't hurt. Get it anyway!

I have one, as I had heard the same as you, and am currently experiencing the worst bout of back to back migraines I have ever had, so in my experience unfortunately no they don't, sorry. 😪

DD had one. She has chronic migraines and liked the piercing. She doesn’t feel it has had any impact on her migraines.

Migraines are a family trait of ours. My cousin had it done and it did nothing. If anything her migraines have got worse over the years since.

But as a possible solution, have you heard of a Cefaly device? I've got one and it's been brilliant.

Someone I work with had it done and swears it got rid of their migraines. In tempted to be honest.

I’ve seen the Cefaly devices mentioned on here but unfortunately most of my migraines begin at work and as a teacher I can’t whip it out for a session 😂

Anecdotally a colleague had one and then the other done and massively reduced her migraines as did DD. Surely it's worth a punt? Go to a proper piercing place, though.

I have two, one in each ear and like you, it was because i was desperate to stop my twice weekly migraines. for ME, it has massively reduced my migraines to the point i can count 6 in total that ive had in the four years since i had the piercings put in. I cant say it would work for you, i honestly didnt expect it to do anything for me but i was desperate. It helps that im 'alternative' so having ear piercings and things works with my general 'look' so even if they hadnt seemingly worked, iw ould keep them in

It's reduced mine. I had both ears done.

My niece swears it worked for her.

Taking Feverfew tablets and seeing a chiropractor completely stopped my regular migraines.

It worked for me. I was getting migraines that lasted 3 days. I was prescribed maxal melt? Or something like that, I forget the name of it. It left me feeling very strange and with a hangover type fuzzy head
I've had my daith several years. I get the occasional visual disturbance but it clears with water, paracetamol and ibuprofen. I don't lose days to it any more
It's honestly the best thing I ever got.

I got mine done 3 years ago but more because I liked the piecing than for migraines.
Got it done at a piecing and tattoo place and they were great.
I think it does help with general headaches. But not with migraines imo
I hardly ever get headaches now where as I used to every 1-2mo this but I still get migraines every now and then
If you like how it looks it’s worth a try!

The Cefaly has a setting for prevention of migraines too. I used it everyday and it reduced my migraines down to virtually nothing.
