Just I’ve realised if I had bought it from Debenhams

Is it sealed? If not, I doubt it

As long as it is still in the same condition that you bought it in then yes

Ps, out of nosiness what's the free gift?

Probably. I saw someone returning some used moisturiser as she said it gave her a rash and they refunded her and put it back on the shelf!

Ooh that is a good gift. I hope you can return it 🤞

OP - you do know you have to buy two items to get the gift don’t you .

I think it's no return on make up, not sure if skincare counts as makeup

Milky yeah, I know that but well worth getting an extra mascara to get all the freebies

So you bought 2 items from Debenhams, one of them skincare and got the free gift and now want to return the skin care to Boots?

I may have got this completely wrong and happy to be told so but if I’ve not... well, admire your nerve! Grin

Why not ask Boots?

ididnt ooooh! This pleases me no end as the items I wanted were out of stock in my local Debenhams. Do you happen to know what the gift is please (please let it be Daywear)?

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 16/09/2020 17:37

Oh!! I see! I AM incorrect!

You bought skincare at Boots. Didn’t get the option of a Free gift.

Have now seen there’s said Freebie option via Debenhams. Hence: AIBU / Can I return skin care to Boots and repurchase (plus a mascara or summink) from Debenhams in order to get Free Gift?

I mean, I’d try it, no bother. God speed!

Yellow as I understand it, OP bought the item from Boots and wants to return it to Boots, as she realises that if she’s bought it at Debenhams instead, she could have had the Debenhams gift with purchase.

Crossed post, sorry Yellow.

Yes that'll be fine. I bought foundation, got home and before opening it realised I'd bought the wrong colour (my mistake) and they had no problem at all with me returning it.

So long as it's still sealed and you have the receipt it's just a product like any other.

I would think so. Even if it's opened, they're usually pretty good at accepting returns.

Yeah, I was fairly shocked! Not even as a tester....back for sale. The customer seemed to be mates with the employee, not sure if that made a difference.

Boots have altered their returns policy, due to Covid. You can now return any cosmetics/skincare, even opened, as there are no testers. I utilised it this week.

Yes Boots are offering returns. They must be selling very little. Every time I go to my local one which is large there are assistants manning the premium brands who are either chatting to each other or on their phones.

I don’t really blame them tbh!

The woman in front of me in the queue returned a used lipstick because she didn't like the shade. Although I got the impression they might not offer everyone the same treatment.
