Watch us wreck the mike, watch us wreck the mike, watch us wreck the mike.
Psych.

Now gather nicely in groups of no more than six...
Unless you're outdoors in Wales...

Oh well, come on in whatever the laws where you are. Plenty of space in this bubble of sanity Wink

I'm fresh from AIBU and think our next thread should be called "selfish SELFISH jobless wankers cavorting at the beach" or similar.

Anyway its my wedding anniversary tomorrow (13 years! Where has it gone???) and we're having a nice lunch out, so looking forward to that. DH and I were randomly discussing the impact of the rule of six on literature today - the Secret Seven are definitely out & the Fellowship of the Ring are surely over too, or do Hobbits not count towards the rule of six in Middle Earth?

Dwarves do count. One of them is not Happy Grin

You can probably have 12 Hobbits due to the space they take up.

There's another loop hole for my DCs. They like second breakfast and elevenses...

The Swallows and Amazons should be ok unless Bridgie comes along. I would worry that the real nice Ds (Dick and Dorothea) would be excluded if not for Nancy's likely scoffing. 'If they object, I'll shiver their timbers for them, the chump headed galoots! "

Kipper, Biff and Chip are fine. Gran makes 6 plus would be fine for a bubble anyway. No more adventures with Wilf, Wilma or Aneena though Grin

Checking in, great new thread title and intro. Thanks BogRollBogof.

Knackered after work, just had "supper" need to.get off my btm and wash work shirt.
Back in tomorrow but not happy how some people get away with doing sfa yet the rest of us are never given.a minute to stand still.😠

Don't want to gwtbsyaryedvon the whole dementia stuff. Worked in elderly care and specialised dementia care for 20 yrs. Contact matters even if it gets to the stage when they don't recognise you regular contact with a caring human being is priceless. Keeping up with family, getting news and spending time just enjoying someone's company is never wasted. Eveni if they dont remember it next visit it makes a difference there and them and gives staff something to
build on.

Happy Anniversary for tomorrow SomewhereEast

My DD came home telling me that a person on bus home was complaining, that a couple of people didn’t have masks on. Everyone either ignored or glared at them. Hopefully the tide is turning. My DD was sat next to a non masker.
But good news she has a proper orthodontist appointment in two months. And they are letting you sit and wait for your appointment, not stand outside.
Surely the hobbits are work colleagues so are exempt.

I've just realised we have tighter socialising restrictions than we did in "proper" lockdown. Fuck this.

From a Carl Heneghan report in the Spectator

"... the new chair of the National Institute for Health Protection, who similarly has little or no background in healthcare. Our leaders amount to little more than a Dad’s Army of highly paid individuals with little or no experience of the job at hand.

This inexperience leads to rash decisions and arbitrary policies.

One example is that entire areas can be locked down if they have 50 cases per 100,000 people. Yet the recognised alert threshold for ‘regular’ acute respiratory infections is 400 cases per 100,000."

The basis for the piece is the random and arbitrary '6 people' nonsense.

The last sentence was one I was wondering about. And the answer is 400 cases per 100000 people before we start worrying about flu transmission.

@MxEWeatherwax so is the journey to mordor to destroy the ring a team building exercise?
I'm worried how all the Austen mothers are going to find husbands for their daughters when most of the families are already 6+

Ahaaaa! This is where you all are!

@BogRollBOGOF you start new threads very well

@trustthegenegenie Oh no! I hadn't realised the new rules had stopped care home visiting. I'll have to check that at work tomorrow, but if it's banned, aarrggh! Have worked so hard with some care homes to get visits going again, it's heartbreaking if we have to stop. I can think of specific residents who are going to be so confused & upset by this.

So, we have parents' evening via zoom this term. In some ways that's good. But it is also a whole new level of social anxiety, especially as the internet keeps playing up.

@Vintagelovingmum , yes team building( I hate team building) shame they couldn’t do it over Teams or Zoom. At least Gollum will be okay as he hasn’t got any friends.

Checking in with my cuppa. Been quiet on here as real life has been overwhelming. Thanks mental heath issues exacerbated by lockdown!

Burying my head in the sand over new changes. In practice we don't go above 6 generally but will have to rethink October half term. And DD2s birthday celebration (current idea is her having two parties which makes her happy. And we can then keep within the letter of the Roolz).
