What is this dog called?

An acquaintance has a huge and gorgeous German Shepherd. I’m trying to remember its name - it’s something like King, Prince, Tyson or Brutus but it’s not any of those!

Any ideas what it might be? I don’t know them well enough to ask before anyone suggests it, but having thought about this dog randomly I really need to remember its name!

Champ?

TigerDroveAgain Sun 13-Sep-20 19:37:01

Ooh - good idea but I don’t think so but it’s that sort of thing

It’s probably Roger, of course, but I’m sure it’s a Champ-like name

If it's a male dog: Schäfer.
If it's a female dog: Schäferin.

You did say it's a German Shepherd... wink

Its pretty clear from the post that OP is referring to its name. Are you on the gin?!

They are always called Duke. Always

grin Sounds like it could be a Maine Coon OP. They're quite 'doggy' cats, I hear.

I’d have remembered if Duke was a Maine Coon : I’ve a very soppy one, quite doggy but not exactly a GSD

My Maine Coon may be responsible for breaking up one of our pigeon couples (by scoffing one of them) so he’s in a degree of disgrace. It might have been a fox though so semi disgrace

Is it sad that I’m so pleased to have solved the mystery?

JesusInTheCabbageVan Sun 13-Sep-20 20:08:17

Well I'm no cat expert, but in the cartoons you can tell it's them because they have a little bitty feather at the corner of their mouth.

I hope you’re punching the air! And I’m very grateful as I’d be awake at 3am going through Tyson-like names! This happened to me once about 40 years ago when trying to remember the name of an acquaintance who allegedly had shagged a then and now well known rock star. I can still remember her name!
