Lovely September day here in Cornwall & I really should be out in the sun. Still, I’m not working again until Thursday so can hopefully get in a couple of beach trips. I have joined a women’s sea swimming group & am looking forward to meeting everyone soon. Worked a 5 hour shift today so enjoying chilling out whilst DD11 is at a friend’s & DH still working. Chippy tea tonight yum. I usually have cod & chips but really fancy a battered jumbo sausage. We’ll probably watch BGT & attempt to separate DD from her phone! I need to strip her bed & the dishwasher needs unloading/ loading again. A big basket of clothes to hang out too. Hey Ho! We have nice plans for tomorrow ( beach that has sea glass, lunch in the cafe there & the arcade that DD loves to visit, plus buying paint for DD’s room). I also have rather less interesting things to sort like haircuts & getting the car valeted. Oh & I might persuade DH to dye my hair. Got a new shade to try ( Iced Chocolate) & I have a fair bit of grey starting to show 😢 He really doesn’t like doing it but always does & does it well, bless him.

We've been out for an early tea & packed lunch shopping at Lidl.

Both girls have gone upstairs, to watch different films Hmm. I've poured a glass of wine & am vaguely considering running myself a bath & having a soak.

I want to have a look at the OU free courses and some online stuff for work at some point too.

I am not nibbling the edges of the brownies I have just baked for our Saturday night treat. No, not guilty...

I love these threads and reading about everyone’s lives so will join in!

Just back from a friend’s house, lovely catch up and lunch. Children played nicely together despite age differences. Children have just gone straight to computers now home- 12 yr old son on Minecraft chatting to his friend online, daughter 10 face timing her best friend whilst playing Sims-they design houses together over it.

Husband playing football, probably having a drink now at the club bar. I’m sat on the bed on my ipad contemplating dinner prep-burritos tonight-Saturday night is usually Indian or Mexican, I enjoy Saturday evenings pottering in the kitchen making a nice dinner. Bottle of red to open too, am contemplating a glass in a mo. Might watch BGT tonight together or find a film. Tomorrow is a day of football, both play, daughter has just left an all boys’ team and joined a girls’ team as a goalie so looking forward to seeing her with her new football friends. After months of no football I no longer moan about the driving around to matches that take up our Sunday, it’s such a pleasure now to see them with friends and getting fresh air and exercise.

Love these threads!

I’m currently on the couch with a blanket reading The Glass Hotel. My kids are watching some rubbish on Pop and eating raw mange tout (only the little seed bits though, what a waste).

I’ve got that horrible feeling where I’ve eaten way too much earlier in the day and still feel super full so not sure if I’ll enjoy whatever takeaway we have later. Can’t decide what to get!

We will be subjected to BGT later too Sad

I love these threads too! We picked all our apples of the tree and I’ve baked two apple crumbles so far. Relaxing now with a glass of wine and expecting adult ds to come round for dinner later. Dh is cooking prawn noodles in black bean sauce yum!!

DH is in hospital at the mo, thankfully recovering from acute heart failure so it's just me and DD 2.5 who has a healing chemical burn on her wee bum (never buy Amazon wipes Angry) AND a UTI. So she's lying on the sofa watching Kiri and Lou while I work up the guys to change her nappy and put her to bed. I'm running on four hours sleep so think it'll be a takeaway tonight and then early to bed.

OP you sound very productive. I bought a bag of crushed ice earlier and a discount 10p lemon.

The crushed ice looks a little bit difficult to detach but I'm so clumsy I'd probably knock out the kettle and the hob if i tried to bash the packet in here so I may need to go out to the pavement to do it and hope I don't get arrested for crushed ice crimes and accidentally getting a pedestrian or car.

I'll write a postcard from jail.

Not much else really.

Also in Cornwall in the sunshine. Went to a poultry auction this morning and bought some lovely new hens for our menagerie. Spent the afternoon settling them in and picking blackberries.
I’m now listening to DD do her music practice whilst DH sorts out our supermarket curry bag for tea (cheaper than a take away) and DS is listening to an audio book. Looking forward to a few glasses of wine in front of the tv later.

I'm having 15 mins peace upstairs. Can hear DD and her friends squealing in the garden- something about a butterfly.
DS is looking through his maths book in his room waiting for me to burst in and test him on his times tables ( as I do regularly). He loves it.Hmm
DP is cleaning the kitchen- which means wiping down the surfaces. He will be sat with a coffee and pack of biscuits when I go downstairs.

Sunny in South Yorkshire. We're having sweet potato fritters and beans and watching Charlie and Lola. Plum pie in the oven. We spent the afternoon in the allotment with the dog and then had a walk. It's been lovely.

I am hiding in the bath while DH makes burgers for dinner. When they are ready, we are going to settle down and watch a movie with the kids.

It’s been a day of jobs here. We have cleaned the tent ready for winter storage, sorted the garage, sorted clothes for charity and done a mountain of ironing.

We’ve been to a National Trust place for the afternoon and took tea and chocolate biscuits. Sainsbury’s on the way home and we bought a nice piece of beef for tomorow. Mum,81 is having a rest, DP is watching a YouTube video about motte and bailey castles and I’m getting ready to start dinner. We are all going to have something with chips, DP Cumberland sausages, myself a cheese omelette and Mum says she wants a fried egg! Our black cat is settled in her favourite chair having been fed.
Tomorow we are to go to another NT place meeting my sister there and taking a picnic. I will bake some cakes after dinner if I have the energy😺

I had too much alcohol yesterday during a lovely catch up with a friend, so I have suffered a bit today. DH has gone out to watch football. I Just forced myself to do 45 minutes on my indoor bike, and feeling better. So chilling with a coffee

I'm reading in bed with a packet of chocolate raisins, after doing too many jobs today.

I'll get up in a minute to sort out stirfry for supper, but I'm enjoying the cosiness at the moment...

That sounds bad :(

But good plan to get some food and sleep today and leave the worry behind even for just tonight.

I feel like we're on a different planet here.
It's absolutely pouring. I had to walk home from the station and am damp. Had brolly and coat at least. Put on some dinner. Have a mountain of washing I can't get out.
Feel disheartened reading if everyones lovely day. I was at work, at risk of redundancy. All very tense.

Feel old tired and poor.

We got an attic ladder installed yesterday, so DH and I spent the day moving all the attic stuff from the garage and playroom to the attic (we only moved in a few weeks ago).

The kids spent the day living in the car, for some reason. They brought books and pillows but DS got a bad headache so they came in to get Calpol for him and are now playing with the Switch together. I think I need to ring the eye clinic and get DS an appointment, he's overdue and he's been having a lot of headaches.

We had burgers, chips and sweetcorn for dinner, which was delicious even though DH had used all the vinegar cleaning the shower drain Hmm

The cats are both fast asleep and snoring contentedly in their beds. Ditto the ferrets. The chickens are having their tea, in preparation for putting themselves sensibly to bed at 8.

Tomorrow I'm going to sort through all the stuff that needs to get put up on the walls, and leave a pile in each room, and put in some more time building my cold frames; I want to get some salad leaves planted but at the moment I just have a heap of bits of timber and a big roll of greenhouse plastic.

Drinking wine and watching Peppa in bed while we persuade toddler DD it's bedtime. She has a cold so didn't sleep well last night and kept me up most of it so I'm a bit wrung out. DP was on nights so he's also tired.

DS and DSS in their respective rooms on respective tech. They've had homemade burgers but I've not got round to sorting our dinner.

Roast dinner tomorrow and MIL is coming over so that will be nice. Doing pineapple upside down cake as a retro pud to welcome autumn Grin

Today it is sunny here but colder than usual for this time of year
DH is building a new computer and swearing a lot
DD1 is reading
DD2 is playing Ms Pac-man on a tiny arcade
I have just made lunch for everyone, after spending the morning switching over my summer to autumn clothes.
Family bike ride planned for this afternoon and probably homemade mac n cheese (with pancetta) for dinner, followed by a night of TV.
