'The happy Place Cafe' AKA the cafe is open thread 3

Morning all.

For the regulars, you know the routine, for anyone new -

Welcome to the Happy Place virtual cafe. The cafe is open every morning for breakfast, there are a number of different seats / tables including some wing back chairs to either side of a log fire.

Dogs and children are welcome although be warned they are sometimes whisked away to see the kitchen.

In the garden there is a sensory area, a cat area with catnip bush, a water feature (feel free to cool your feet) and an area for the kitten bees (tiny kittens, the size of a bee but with wings and the ability to sprout an umbrella from their tails).

Florence is a French pastry Chef who makes the most wonderful bread, cakes and pastries.

Fernando is a cocktail waiter who is also in charge of the huge posh Italian coffee machine.

If you don't like the menu then feel free to cook for yourself or ask one of the regulars.

May I come in please? First time here. Do you have mimosas by any chance? It's been a long busy week getting back into the routine of work and school runs, now I finally have a glorious day off to myself until I have to pick up DS. A long leisurely brunch sounds just the ticket.

Well Fernando is having a day off but I'm sure I can make one, it's the same as a Bucks Fizz isn't it?

Thanks for the new thread @sashh was getting a bit worried the old thread would fill before a new thread was made and I might not be able to find you again!

LOVE the new name!

We're all isolating now until his test comes back hopefully negative. 2-5 days for the results apparently.
Dh said it wasn't managed well. The test is outside the town hall and People were just merrily walking through the queues to get to shops etc. 2 hours it took for him to be seen. Poor love is knackered now 2 hours of standing up when you're 8 and feeling a bit rotten. He is tucked up Under his duvet on the sofa watching planet Earth now.
Dd was already isolating- someone in her bubble tested positive on Monday. She's moaning that we are disturbing her peace Grin

Fingers crossed for you all waiting for test results. I feel like this is going to become part of our new normal for a while. How is DD getting on @mogloveseggs? Isolating aside obviously 😂

Hi @Waxonwaxoff0! Person after my own heart looking for mimosas 😂

Fingers crossed @mogloveseggs.

I just hope I managed to do the test properly. Poor DS hated it.

Time to settle down by the fountain and stroke the kitten bees.

Hello, been a while since I popped in. Baby is sleeping better and we actually managed a holiday! Back to normality now.... and I'm sure I'm going to be popping back in the early hours as baby has been very unsettled today.

Any chance for a hot chocolate?

Does that depend on how much meat are on them? 🤔

Morning all.

Welcome to new comers and faces not seen for a while.

Well F and F have been busy, we now have a selections of individual cakes but inside them a ball of chocolate (or sugar) containing a cocktail.

I've just had an orange cupcake with bucks fizz.

I see @AlCalavicci is on the toast again, don't forget to check the cold store for various cheeses.

Well today breakfast is obviously cocktail cakes but I know some of you are working / driving so Florence is making some non boozy cakes.

To soak up the alcohol I'm going to cook sausages, from the UK but also wursts French sausages, garlic sausage and there will be a selection of cold meats too,

Today's packing up, cold sausages (salami and the like) crusty bread, cheese and a small flask of Bovril because it looks chilly, I'll put a cake in but consider having that later.

Morning all

Sausage day!

I'll take a surprise cupcake for after I've finished work. I don't normally work on a weekend (stupid self-isolation. Grumble).

Can I have a fancy coffee please?

Morning everyone!

It was still dark when I got up this morning, first time I've noticed it this year. It's actually still dark so winter won't be long upon us at all.

I'm going to stick some porridge in the slow cooker and it will be done by the time everyone else wakes and perhaps Florence will have some yummy pastries later on!

Morning Grin

We got DS's negative test result last night, so we're all going swimming today.

Are you in the north @NoGravyForYou? It's light here in Cambridgeshire.

Porridge sounds perfect.
