Asking for a handhold - DH in ICU

DH was taken into hospital last night with breathing difficulties. It was pretty minor, the paramedics weren't even going to take him in but we insisted. He's now in an induced coma on a ventilator. He's had 2 negative Covid tests so they don't think it's that but they don't know what it is.

I'm falling apart. He's my whole life. We have a 2 year old who is a complete Daddy's girl. I need him so much. I can't even be with him now because of COVID.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. If he was close to dying you would be allowed to go and see him, so it’s good that you’re not. Do they have any idea what the problem is?

I’m so sorry OP, I can imagine the worry you’re going through- especially not being able to be with him.

Aww a virtual handhold for you OP, that must have come as such a shock. It’s a good thing you both insisted that he be taken in.
I hope you’re able to get regular updates?

I hope he makes a quick recovery. What a shock for you. Look after yourself and your dd and let the hospital staff look after your dh. That sounds silly but I hope you know what I mean. Prayers and thoughts with you Thanks

Hand hold for you. How very very scary. I hope they can tell you something soon, facts help you to handle the fear. Hugs for your little daughter as well.

Getting updates every couple of hours but nothing concrete so far. I'm to call back in 15 minutes and hopefully they will let me go up. I couldn't be more terrified. I just want to be holding his hand. I love him so very deeply.

Thinking of you OP.

If he's in an ICU that means he is getting the absolute rolls Royce of NHS care. They don't put ppl in there who they don't expect to make it. He will have the best brains in the hospital working on his case.
