I am such a wimp.. I noticed a hole in my molar so plucked up the courage to get it checked. The dentist drilled into it and plugged it full of smelly clove oil ish stuff then smeared it with white stuff and shone a light on it for a few seconds. She said she wants me back to put a filling on top or something but as I was so out of it I literally dont know if this is a real filling or temporary or anything really.. I'm such a doofus. She said the tooth was weakened. Does anyone know if this was a filling I had or something else? I sound so stupid. Next appointment is in 6 mnths she said

This sounds temporary. The clove smell will be zinc oxide and Eugenol. Why don't you ask questions when you are there?

I did but her English was rather poor and she had a face shield. She said it was a type of filling and at first said it will he removed then said another filling and then said it was permanent. I was so out of it and nervous I just closed my eyes thru it all.

It sounds like a temporary dressing which are, as the name suggests, only a relatively short-term solution. A stop- gap, if you will. Eventually it will need replacing with a permanent filling.

The classic dentist surgery smell really is something else and hasn't improved in all my years. I once asked a dentist what exactly the smell was and she didn't knowShock.

Well early hours of the morning I awoke to severe stomach pains and difficulty breathing. Was taken into hospital and they put it down to the filling and a reaction I had from the procedure. Was the scariest thing ever . No idea what actually caused it.
