So quick question is it

‘You’ve got another thing coming’ or
‘You’ve got another think coming’??

Worried I have been saying it wrong all these years blush

It’s thing, surely?!

MrsTerryPratchett Thu 03-Sep-20 16:05:35

I say thing. I know it's think.

feistyoneyouare Thu 03-Sep-20 16:05:55

It's 'think'.

ChanklyBore Thu 03-Sep-20 16:06:33

It’s think. If you think it’s thing, you’ve got another think coming.

Palavah Thu 03-Sep-20 16:06:56

It's think.

"so you think you're taking the last piece of cake, do you? Well you've another think coming!"

Palavah Thu 03-Sep-20 16:07:40

@chanklybore LOL

GreyishDays Thu 03-Sep-20 16:07:58

Isn’t it quicker to google?

MaryPoppinUnannounced Thu 03-Sep-20 16:08:54

Bloody hell.

I have been saying ‘thing’ blush, however, it appears I’m not the only one.

@ChanklyBore grin

This comes up time and time again on here. It's think but lots of people say thing.

Devlesko Thu 03-Sep-20 16:15:53

"And for another think" wouldn't make sense.

devildeepbluesea Thu 03-Sep-20 16:16:39

It's think. "If you think.......then you've another think coming". Thing makes absolutely no sense. It means you need to prepare to think differently.

Bigoldwimp Thu 03-Sep-20 16:17:48

Think. Bizarre but true

LuxuryWoman2020 Thu 03-Sep-20 16:20:24

Think. Nothing else would make sense. Its think

Foxyloxy1plus1 Thu 03-Sep-20 16:20:46

It’s think. It’s always been think. It always will be think.

‘If you think that, you’ve got another think coming’
‘If you thing that, you’ve got another thing coming’

Second makes no sense.

BunnyLovesBananas Thu 03-Sep-20 16:21:48

Never occurred to me it would be "think"

Some people pronounce "thing" as "think"

ZaZathecat Thu 03-Sep-20 16:24:25

It's 'think'. As in 'you'd better think twice about doing that'.

Redglitter Thu 03-Sep-20 16:25:03

And for another think" wouldn't make sense

But thats a totally different scenario to the one the OP is asking about

I blame Judas Priest.

ChateauMargaux Thu 03-Sep-20 16:28:36

Think is a verb, thing is a noun. The sentence in question requires a noun, therefore a thing or a thought.. not a think!! You are all wrong!!

HasaDigaEebowai Thu 03-Sep-20 16:30:08

Its think. It means think again
