You will LOVE it but persevere as it can be an acquired taste. Hubby? Hmmmm maybe!!

I loved it! Didn't watch it with DH though, because it's not mind-numbing sport.

My favourite ❤️ DH watches it too, can’t wait for the new series.

It's so schmaltzy. You can predict the next emotional punch to the very second.

I like lots of stuff on TV but this was just too schmaltzy for me. Didn't hate it though.

It's a back and forth over the years of a family, hard to describe without giving away but it's absolutely amazing! My favourite show

Not helpful, but I couldn't watch past episode 4. It was ok, but I just didn't feel the urge to continue to the next episode, kind of like how you find yourself binge watching some shows cos you have to know what happened.
If we ever get locked down again and I run out if stuff to watch, I will give it another go.

I love it! Watching without DH as it's not his thing.

Loved it, and so does dh, even though he’s usually into breaking bad type stuff.

I started watching it about 4 times before I managed to get into it. Then I binged watched it pretty quickly. What kind of things do you normally watch?

bellajay · 02/09/2020 19:23

Me and DH watch it together, think he might like it more than me tbh.

I loved it and the first episode is one of the best hours of TV ever.

DH would rather poke his eyes out than watch it. It is very sentimental/soapy.

Series 3 is shit by the way, but series 4 is a belter - just in case you get the bug and binge it!

I thought it was maudlin rubbish.

Discovered it last week and have already binge-watched the first series over our bank holiday staycation - my new must see (at least until the next series of My Brilliant Friend is released)

Love it so much! Although I thought season 4 didn't quite reach the highs of the rest.

It’s a bit schmaultzy than my usual taste but because of the story telling I quite enjoy it. Series 4 has picked up again with this when I felt 2/3 were slower but bingeing it will make that easier.

Love it! It is very cleverly written, you see so much more if you watch it again. Enjoy. Do not read any spoilers

Love ir so much. It’s moved me like no other tv show. It’s about family, values, love, resentment, getting over the past, traumas, sibling relationship, dealing with family secrets and lies.

I thought season 4 was the best so far. Honestly OP it’s brilliant.

Liked it to start with but the main characters are really annoying after a while. What with all the introspection and long speeches it felt like Dawson’s Creek for the middle aged.

I like it but I don't watch too many in one go as it gets too samey not a real word with long, lovey dovey speeches. Everyone is very wise. Its about families and relationships and is really lovely in some parts. DH will watch it with me if I have it on but he isn't fussed either way. Also agree with pp that the first episode is really good.
