Can you tell me your experiences with Dulux easy care?

Is it really as bad as the reviews I’ve been reading 🙈
Just bought a few tubs in tranquil dawn in preparation of redoing the front room... but the reviews are terrible. Of course I read the reviews after buying the paint 🤦‍♀️

It’s a big room and won’t be cheap to put right if it messes up.... so tell me, have you had success with it?

We used it through our whole house so we could wipe any marks off. It actually cleans exactly the same as any other paint imo. But works fine and goes on as well as any other

Thanks @Rainyrain ! So you had no issue applying it? Most of the reviews are complaining that the paint just peels off the walls if you happen to go over the same area again

Just worried as I’ve picked a fairly dark colour compared to what is on the walls now (magnolia!) so it will be obvious if it comes out patchy or messy.

I used it in my hallway with no problems at all. I was painting light grey over white though. Perhaps do an undercoat first?

Nope no problems applying it. Some of it was over previously painted walls and some newly plastered and sealed walls

Do you think I’d need an undercoat as I’m covering magnolia? My walls are really good, though I was planning to have a bit of a sand and wash them down beforehand.

Yes it does peel off the walls when taking off tape, no matter whether you take off wet or after days of drying. But I just go back over those bits again with a small brush. I've never had any other paint brand peel off walls before.

Damn... I have a lot of coving that will need taping and I’m very particular about a neat finish!
Maybe I shouldn’t have got such a dark colour? 🤔

I had no problem with it peeling off walls when removing masking tape. I used frog tape which is much better than cheap masking tape.

I meant a dark undercoat. Can I ask what colour you have chosen?

Sorry, just saw it's Tranquil Dawn!

I’ve gone and bought masking tape 🤦‍♀️ Lots of it!

It’s called Tranquil dawn. The tester on the wall looks a lot darker than all the pictures I’ve seen!

Personally I don't consider Tranquil Dawn to be a dark colour.

I am interested in this too as we are about to redecorate using this paint. We have a large slobbery dog and need to wash our walls frequently. I want to know if the silk and matt are equally easy to clean? We're going to be painting over lining paper on some walls as they are badly cracked with peeling paint.

It's a lovely colour though, I'm looking for something for my living room so might be an option Smile

Our decorator recommended this one:

We have small children and have used him before, he know what he is talking about.

I really didn’t think it was a dark colour either, but the test patch on the wall seems a lot darker than I was expecting. Maybe I’m just so used to the light coloured walls that it looks very dark to me!

I only bought the easy care version as it was the only one available. The regular wall & ceiling paint in that colour had sold out everywhere... must be a popular colour atm!

The kitchen one washes amazingly but I did find it started to peel off with the masking tape. The regular one is more robust against scrapes etc and wipes ok but not as well as the kitchen one.

It does go funny if you go back over an area that has started to dry, but I found that just leaving it to properly dry and doing a second coat was fine.

I did find that the paint doesn't go as far as other types and I had to go back and get more.

My living room is tranquil dawn easy care and I had zero problems! Buy very good quality tape (frog tape - it's worth the money) and remove when the paint is still damp.

It's a gorgeous colour and I love you can wipe off any marks without the paint coming too!

Just take the masking tape off whilst the paint is wet.
