School residential

School announced during lockdown that year 6 residential was cancelled. All payments apart from deposit were returned to parents. With promise that would follow soon; as supplier agreed to transfer booking to March 2021 (for new year 6 children). Those children now going into year 6 are being asked to pay deposit by the end of the month for trip in March which would be great if it goes ahead. However I’m reading from guideline there are to be no residential trips. My cynical side says we are being encouraged to pay the deposit to get the outgoing parents paid back and no one has a clue if this trip will go ahead?

I wouldn't sign up for anything now, no one has a clue, at best you could only say it is 50:50 going to go ahead.

Even if it able to go ahead, if you are a risk averse sort you are maybe not going to want to send them?

I think you may be right. Decide not to go as you are able to do.
