Does anyone believe that celebs really dye their own hair or use head and shoulders?

Watching the bloody awful Claudia Winkleman advert for h&s and I just don't believe she's using head and shoulders, and I definitely don't think that celebs use box dye when they have beautiful and clearly professionally dyed hair.
Am I the only cynical one?

No I don’t either

Why would a celeb use head and shoulders when they get salon quality stuff easily

They probably don’t even do their own hair!

Of course not. To say they do they might have a professional apply the box dye before the ad, but do I believe They’re leaning over the bath doing their own, do I chuff.

Of course they don't. Well, I believe Diane Buswell dyes her own hair because I have seen the mess she left in the bathroom! Other than that, no.

No, it’s all bollocks isn’t it? & more fool us for believing multi millionaires use L’Oréal shite.

L’Oréal still test on animals so I wouldn’t buy from them anyway.

I'm going to say yes because I used to work with slebs (think multiple sellout arena tours) and at least three I can think of were SO bloody tight. One in particular was pathologically stingy he was SO awkward to work with because he made you ask for freebies from everyone. Not even just the clients, like random businesses/shops you'd pass when filming... He'd be like "shall we go in there and see if they'll give us something for free"

Of course not, they are just paid handsomely for advertising the stuff.

I think it's also that they are more likely to be using fillers and botox than applying £7.99 oil of olay creams every day.

I wonder if Holly Willoughby does actually use Garnier Nutrisse because sometimes her roots do look quite orange?

And Davina might use it as well because it's just big standard dark hair grey coverage which is fairly easy really.

Errrrr this is juicy. Can we have names?! Or at least initials?

@SoManyActivities

But holly and davina are not quite the a listers some of the multi nationals use, I imagine davina as being more down to earth anyway.

That said I wouldn't use home hair colour, I'm. Embracing my grey since March

I can't tell you how much I hate those Claudia Winkleman adverts. They make my teeth itch.

@SoManyActivities Davina is dating her hairdresser, I doubt very much she's dying her own hair these days!Grin

I very much doubt any of them dye their own hair - heck even I don’t dye it myself these days! But I think it is possible that someone like Claudia W uses Head & Shoulders. I have tried many brands, including expensive brands but H&S is honestly the only brand that stops me getting Seborrheic Dermatitis on my scalp.

Yes I think they do, but not permanently. So I think the hair dye is applied by a professional and Claudias hair washed and styled for the ad using it.

Past that no.

Possibly during lockdown? I did idly wonder how TV presenter,s kept their hair nice during lockdown, but generally no .

Claudia Winkleman's hair is definitely a wig, maybe she does use head and shoulders on it though so not a lie? I have always assumed she had a short elfin cut that she wears on her days off to be a normal person (because she has a nice bone structure, eyes and mouth) then just plonks on the big hair, can't see to cross the road impractical fringe wig to be The Claudia Winkleman.

I also assume that Davina and Holly do use Garnier but expertly applied in a salon environment by top hairdressers only for the purposes of the well paid advert. Definitely not an over the sink jobbie!

They’ve got to use something so why not? The only shampoo I can use is head and shoulders as all the others give me an itchy scalp and my dc is the same.

I do agree that Holly Willoughby is not a good advert for her hair dye as her roots are often awful and it does look like a home job.

Absolutelylush · 29/08/2020 15:13

Also I have tried lots of expensive shampoos and bought some professional ones from the hairdressers over the years and I don’t find any of them any better.

I've read a few articles stating that they have to use the products if they're endorsing them. Trading Standards etc. I think they probably do use the products but have them professionally applied. Holly's hair looks like she uses a box dye. Not expensive looking at all. As other people have said Davina's is just brown and is probably done by her boyfriend!

Holly’s hair is not very sophisticated, always looks like a block of yellow to me... Maybe she does home-dye?

What gets me is when a celeb & product are mis-matches. Recently an Irish celeb, who is skinny & fronts a fitness / weight loss show was advertising white bread. The family sliced pan type... She deffo does not eat it herself!

I can believe Claud does use H&S. I have my hair super-expensively coloured and use it. I find it is the best option if you've got an itchy scalp.

The box dye shit nah.

I’m sure there’s an advertising law in America that stipulates if a celeb advertises a product, they have to actually use it.

Cheetahfajita · 29/08/2020 16:38

I have boycotted head and shoulders because that advert is so bad.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/08/2020 16:40

H&S is tested on animals anyway.
