I am trying to log into my email account on my new computer and i keep getting the following message-
That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different account

I can send and receive email on my phone with the account but cannot get onto it on the computer.

Any tips please

@spence246
I'm in no way any expert in this, but on my mac, I sign into my 'hotmail' account via Outlook not Microsoft per se, I know they're technically the same company but don't know if it makes a difference, you could give it a try.

I used to always access my hotmail.com email via pc browser. Then I started using an android tablet, and hotmail forced me to use an app. Ok. The other day I tried to log in via the app and was told to update it, inevitably my tablet is too old for the update. I'm not ditching a perfectly fine tablet... so it's back to using a browser. Firefox works better than Chrome for me, might be worth a go?

Oh, and I just go to "hotmail.com" in the browser bar.

Are you sure you haven't mistyped? It took me a long long while to get into an account when I had [email protected] saved in the log in cache. Blush

@HirplesWithHaggis thanks but still no luck with either chrome, firefox or edge. Putting hotmailcom into the browser bar takes me to outlook and I get the same message that it doesn't exist when i try to log in.

@picklemewalnuts thanks for the suggestion but no, not mistyped ( this time Blush ) .
there must be something I am doing wrong , just not sure what!

I use hotmail and haven't ever had that problem, I was going to say have you somehow mistyped your address, something silly like .com rather than .co.uk or hotmail rather than outlook. I've done that before, a very easy mistake to make

I have found recently that it says the email doesn't exist if I autofill, regardless of the autofill being correct. I have to type the whole thing manually. It's extremely frustrating.

Thanks for all the help.
@PleasantVille @GunsAndShips I've not mistyped or auto filled. I've tripled checked Grin
@bestofme21bestofme2 I have a list of associated usernames for the email but there are more than I remember making- how do i know which one? Blush

Have you accidentally put a space at the end of your email address? I did and it didn't recognise the account.

I don't think a teenager will have heard of hotmail, if they are 19 it stopped when they were 11. Your post prompted me to log back in to my old account to read my spam. I really would recommned switching to Gmail.

When you get it sorted consider using a password manager like last pass- much easier.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but are you going to hotmail.co.uk to sign in?
