Kindly spotted and pointed out by dd, it's quite significant. Excuse the mess - this was first thing on waking.

What do I do? Is there a product I can take?

Hmm, depends on the cause, hair loss falls under the umbrella term alopecia but there are several different types with individual causes and treatment options. I would recommend an appointment with the GP and ask for a referral to a dermatologist or trichologist.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Hair naturally thins as we age and sometimes for genetic reasons this can start quite early in life, 40s and 50s.

For an immediate fix get a bottle of hair powder designed to thicken the texture of the hair to disguise the sparse areas.

I was feeling like you a year ago, I tried a few things and six months ago tried a shampoo/conditioner/serum and it has worked for me. I won't name it as what works for one won't work for another (and I'm not sure if it would be breaking rules to promote one product) but I hope you find some help.

Feel free to PM me the name - I won't hold you to ransom if it doesn't work Grin

Just to add mine was worse than yours. One thing I was told was taking a photo under artificial light or with a flash makes it look worse. I think there is some truth in that so not sure about your photo, if it wasn't done in natural light maybe try another photo? It might not be as bad as you think.

Good plan, I'll try that later once it's been washed. May have to embrace the ponytails for the next few weeks til I get it under some sort of care.

Will contact the GP for a phone appointment too.

Also will make sure to up my vitD and Iron in the meantime.

I’m suffering from hair thinning at my parting neatest to the crown. I’m just wondering if anyone who has experienced this has found a solution. I’m 58, I’ve had a Basel cell carcinoma removed from nearby area last year but hair around the scar has returned. If I take a photo of it, I’m very alarmed.
