There's no covid in the wizard in world

so who fancies going to hogsmeade for a drink? And a bit of a wander round the shops?

Our minister for magic is trying to speak to the world leaders about the problem, but Trump is terrified of magic so that's not helping.

It is looking pretty hot today so will probably go to the hogwarts grounds and risk a dip in the lake. The squid won't mind will he? Anyone know if he's still there?

Well I don't know what you lot did the other day but the weather has entirely broken and it's all grey and dismal now! Even signs of an early autumn with yellow leaves all over the ground. Or is it just scorched leaves knocked down by torrential rain, or was that the squid getting terribly upset by you lot?

What's really going on?
I've been hearing rumors of a Dragon Pox outbreak here? Something's clearly going on...
People are going on about sealing up of Floo networks, and how use of port keys is being banned with fines for improper use, though some confusion about if anyone was taking it to seriously and what improper use would be? I mean I can use one to visit a castle can't I?

There seems to be some uncertainty over Hogwarts reopening as normal and if students will all return if they do. Then I heard that
Honeydukes will have to close if Hogwarts re-opens I can't see the locals liking that much, and wont it lead to underage drinking in the dorms?
So many different stories I'm really confused... I've also been hearing rumors that those students who do return in person next term, are going to be taught by the portraits? I mean really...?

What I'm really bothered about though is rumors that Hagrid was in possession of a metallic blue egg in December, and isn't that the color of Peruvian Vipertooths eggs, and aren't they how Dragon Pox jumped to humans regardless of if they're pure or half bloods? I've heard squibs can get it too... but what about cows if they're the main food,
I heard cowpox looks like dragon pox and I'm a bit concerned...

But anyway getting back to the point, we all know how daft Hagrid was over that bloody Norwegian Ridgeback Norbert who turned out to be Norberta anyway, (that reminds me I must renew my dragon sanctuary membership though apparently they're temporarily closed for some sort of deep clean, very disappointed , was hoping to visit this summer...) so I'm not feeling assured by claims that "lessons were learned", but anyway AIBU to ask if anyone know what's really going on?

Well I heard our minister was getting visits from some strange muggle version of a dark wizard - a political strategist or some such alchemical profession, or are they more Soothsayers by trade? Really not sure, but I hear his wife writes for somewhere...

I'm not sure Boris would know what to do with himself.

I'll pass on the lake, but I do need new wand. Is it still Ollivianders? Does someone else own it now? I think he died Shock

Was that recent BabyLlamaZen? I do hope not, but there hasn't been recent mention of him that I'm aware of, not that I'm up on these things.... I know he got rescued in very poor health from the cellar of Malfoy Manor during the war, and taken off to Shell Cottage to recuperate. We all assumed he'd quietly restart and maybe go over to Owlnet for deliveries?
I believe he crafted and sent Luna Lovegood (who he was imprisoned with) a new wand ...

Be careful, there are Dementors everywhere. Keep practising Expecto Patronum. Those masks that Muggles wear over their mouths and noses will not save you from the Dementors' Kiss, even though the Dementors like to wear them themselves, and believe they are the ultimate cure for this mysterious Muggle illness. Won't somebody give them some Pepper-Up Potion?

And it's rumoured that Muggles have discovered Polyjuice Potion, which some of them are using to sneak past quarantine laws.

@Lelophants This is a fantastic idea for a thread!

And remember, don't try to go abroad: you might get killed by the virus, or worse, quarantined. Do not try to Apparate unless you have passed your test: you might get Splinched.

Arthur Wesley has had to deal with several jinxed face masks recently - they try to strangle / suffocate muggle users

Is the Hogs Head doing track and trace??

Hogwarts remained open to all not just key workers. Due to the Misuse of Magic by underage wizards laws. Homeschooling wasn't really viable.

As for returning in September, Parents (particularly those of muggle borns are concerned but Madame Pomfrey has got a very reliable spell to test all students before they get onto the Hogwarts Express. Any who test positive are to go into a special quarantine carriage and they can stay in special accommodation in the Forbidden Forest.
As it's public transport face masks which are invisible and you can eat through are to be worn on the train. But at school they are not needed

Filch and the house elves lead by Dobby have ensured that the school is COVID secure and has been deep cleaned during the holidays. And will continue to be so once term begins

A team of toilet cleaners has been lead by Moaning Myrtle has been placed in the loos

Whereas before classes had two houses in them it will now just be one house per a lesson. And for quidditch you can only watch games if your house is playing.

Everyone is hoping that the whole thing has blown over before the Quidditch World Cup next summer.

Obviously the Quidditch World Cup is a priority, anyone else remember the heartbreak for Moldovan supporters and players when thy couldn't participate in the 2014 Quidditch World Cup because an outbreak of Dragon Pox in their training camp?
That was after their amazing performance in the three day match against the Chinese in 2010.
Reeta Skeeta would probably make quite a lot out of all that...
Just as well there's not going to be a requirement for masks, I can just see Moaning Myrtle's response now...

The advice in the Quibbler is to wear shoes to bed, in case you sleepwalk, or you need to make a quick exit, 'cos Covid.

Agree security questions between members of your family, because you can't recognise them if they're wearing a mask.
