Inspired by this buzzfeed article can you name a scene which has the perfect music with it that just makes it so memorable.

Mine has to be from Glee, where Blaine Anderson (Darren Kriss) sings Cough Syrup whilst Karofsky attempts suicide.

It’s hauntingly beautiful

That one is perfect you're right.

The one that comes to my mind is in Desperate Hoisewives, when Susan's daughter is giving birth and Bree is rushing to Karen's death bed. The song is Wonderful, Wonderful and it's hauntingly beautiful.

The whole premise of Life of Mars

Take a look at the lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man, wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars?

Genius!

Also the scene in Ashes to Ashes where Alex has been kidnapped and drugged and Gene breaks into the premises to rescue her. Vienna, is playing in the background. Iconic stuff.

I can't find it on you tube but I loved Hell to the Liars (The Split) being played as Nicola Walker leaves to go to her sisters hen party. She knows her husband has lied and cheated and it's all coming out in the press. I watched it over and over.

I have seen none of these....looks like binge watching is my plan for today Grin

On a lighter note, Jaws has to be up there. I imagine just about everyone knows that music!

Another lighter note here

This scene from umbrella academy

It makes me smile too but it also shows each character’s personality and it’s the first time any of them have lived without their abusive father

The scene in 13 Reasons Why when Hannah decides to kill herself and they play Ultravox's Vienna. It's so powerful.

Slipping through my fingers as Donna gets her daughter ready for her wedding in Mamma Mia.

Agree with OP, the Umbrella Academy uses music fantastically. This series there is a whole scene using Backstreets Back along side fight scenes and it’s great!

Again Umbrella Academy... loved the use of the Swedish cover of Hello during the foots funeral...and Backstreet boys during the fight scene.

Loved Morning Broken being used/sung in Pushing Daisies.

In the film Monster when the 2 female characters go on a date and are roller skating to Journeys “Don’t stop believing”. I found it haunting.

The final song (‘When they asked us’) from ‘Oh, What a Lovely War’.

Actually, a lot of songs from that film.

The ending of Gallipoli with Albinoni's Adagio where Mel Gibson is trying to get there in time to stop them going over the top...I first saw it as a teenager and it has haunted me ever since. I cry every single time I see it.

And the scene in Amadeus where Mozart is dictating the requiem and Salieri is writing it, and you hear the music come to life as Mozart explains it, and this is cut with his wife racing to get back to him...goosebumps.

Not quite what you're asking for but the opening scene of Up always has me sobbing at about 2.30 ish trigger warning even though it's animated) 😢

Another vote for Platoon ( although I haven’t actually watched it, I just absolutely love that music!) And for Mamma Mia ( Slipping Through My Fingers). I’m feeling very emotional at the mo as DD11 is off to secondary school in a few weeks.

I think this thread needs not only TW but spoiler alert too.

The ones that come to my mind are:

Johnny cash - hurt - in person of interest when John goes on the rampage after joss' death - cannot watch that and keep a dry eye

Bones - placebo - running up that hill - bones' dad takes his revenge against those who caused he & his wife to have to go on the run abandoning bones and her brother and ultimately resulting in his wife's murder

Greys anatomy - I've not seen the whole series but watched first couple seasons when it first came out and STILL Remember

Snow patrol - chasing cars - Denny's death

Charmed - so many great show for music but particularly:

Angels - Jane Siberry when Andy dies

I miss you - Stevie nicks - prue's funeral

Michelle branch - goodbye to you - coles final exit in centennial charmed

Agree with several pps too, desperate housewives, mamma mia,

i love the end scene of trainspotting with born slippy playing over it. it’s one of my favourite film scenes ever. trainspotting just has an amazing sound track! lust for live, atomic, perfect day, born slippy - they all fit perfectly with the scene.
