Hello everyone
Posting here for traffic.
My anxiety levels are through the roof today Sad

Ive been working really hard to pay down debt the past few months, paying off my car loan, over draft, sofa finance and making a dent in my credit card balance.

However i woke up this morning in a blind panic my argos card minimum was due to be paid on the 2nd and I always do this over the phone but I completely forgot this month.

I rang the automated line at 6.30 this morning and paid.

Ive rang them this afternoon and spoke to a nice lady who said that my statement has been generated today and she couldn't tell me if I'd incur a late payment charge or most importantly it would be noted on my credit report. Having looked on the Internet it seems likely that it will be noted on my credit report.

I'm devasted. My husband is desperate to move next year and I might have ruined it all by my tardiness.

Has anyone else done similar and what was the outcome?

I have never missed a payment on anything before. We have a mortgage at the moment that we have had 8 years.

Joint income is 60k plus.
Looking to buy a house at 350k with an approx deposit of 100k. We have alot of equity in our house.

Thanks in advance for any advice given, experiences shared. Xxx

Set up a standing order (not a direct debit) to make the payment every month.

I have done this now.
Should go done this from the start. Kicking myself now and going to pay the whole lot of this month!

I wouldn't have thought a 1 off payment of a couple of days would affect your credit score.

I vaguely remember something similar happening to me and I'm sure the conversation I had was that there was a period of grace, maybe 7 days before it'd show up on a credit record.

In fact thinking about it I used to get paid on the 15th of the month but quite often my Next card payment would be due on the 13/14th but I'd always do my payment on the 15th and it never showed on my credit score.

I think you'll be ok. I think there are 5
working days grace in case there are banking issues etc.

I also think you will be ok. I accidentally went into my overdraft for a few days and it had no impact.

Thank you everyone. I really hope so. My husband is so good with money. I am not. I've been really trying to get this stuff paid off so we can buy his dream house (I'm not unsatisfied with our own house) and would feel awful if me paying my card late once ruined it for him!

I have had a couple of late payments for my cc like you and my credit score was well in the high 90s.

The mortgage and your credit card count for way more than 1ate payment! Xx

I've done similar and contacted the credit card company as soon as I realised. The late penalty was refunded as I'd never missed a payment before. Pretty sure it didn't affect my credit score either.
You've sorted it quickly, it will more than likely be okay.

Credit scores are a load of bollocks. It's what's on the report that matters and a late payment may show up.
