Flight refund - still waiting after 2 months!!

Hi, just wondering if anyone else is STILL waiting for flight refunds. We were due to fly with Ryanair last week of May, booked it via On The Beach, and still no refund from them. On The Beach have been great in as much as they've kept in contact and advised when they get the money from Ryanair they will forward to us, but it's starting to get frustrating now. We also had a hotel booked for the night before our flight with Jury's Inn, not had that refund either, despite chasing! Anybody else?

Virgin told us 120 days for refund but they’re trying to get through them faster. We actually rebooked for next summer but I appreciated their openness that they knew it wasn’t how it was supposed to be but they’re really trying.

Yes, still waiting. We were booked with Virgin for late May as well and have heard nothing - we booked through a cheap third party agent though and have to go through them (and they are charging us £50 for the privilege of getting our refund for flights that were cancelled, which I'm sure is entirely legal).

Yes waiting for a Ryanair refund from March! Have had Airbnb, Expedia and easyJet refunds with no problem.

I had numerous flights cancelled from numerous companies (I'm not a Jetsetter, I book for students)
Alitalia- cancelled in early June for July- still waiting. They advise 12-18 months (!!!!)
BA - cancelled May, 2 emails arrived together, one advising of cancellation, one of refund.
Easyjet- ditto
Ryanair- "refunds are being made in order of booking" Mine was booked in April so I think I may have a wait yet!

Just got my refunds from easyJet and Ryanair - flights around 17 May.

Hopefully you'll all get yours soon. Ryanair stated they were clearing their backlog by July 31.

Wow, okay so some of you waiting even longer than May! I had read Ryanair was promising the majority of refunds by the end of July, so I'm surprised. Well, sort of! It makes me feel very reluctant to book with them in future, especially as we have been refunded from Easy jet from a separate cancelled trip from June..

Interesting springy0c . We did get an email from On The Beach who told us that the cancellation was confirmed and they would pass on the funds when received, no mention of any action required by us. Unsure whether to sit it out, or start sending complaining emails!

I initiated a charge back on my debit and credit card for flights booked through 2 separate online agents (neither of them were forthcoming with a refund and kept fobbing us off). Both card suppliers refunded my money in under a month.

Don't be put off of you booked on a debit card, call your bank and start a charge back. If it's on a credit card then you can claim under charge back too (issuer is more likely to pursue this than a section 75)

I was booked with
American Airlines (flight 27th July to usa)
Amtrak (train from Seattle to Vancouver)
Air bnb (Vancouver)

I've had all the money back (little wrangling) and in cash refund not vouchers. AA and Amtrak tried vouchers at first, but when I pointed out we were not allowed in due to covid rules, they gave me refunds

Waiting for refunds from Ryanair from 1st week of April. They offered vouchers, which we turned down. They emailed yesterday to remind us that the vouchers were due to run out and we should get them used. Cheeky bastards. If they can email, they can bloody well refund!

My dd was due to fly with Ryanair at the end of June. It was booked with On the Beach.
She got her refund a couple of weeks ago.

Our flights were cancelled on the 21st March. Being given the total run around by Air France and no refund yet.
Japan Trans Ocean, who I didn't expect to get a refund from as the flights were running, but we couldn't go to Japan , fully refunded us within 2 days of asking, before the flight dates.

We got $10k back from Emirates in around 6 weeks.

Was very relieved but had mentally written the money off as I didn't actually think we'd get it back, thought it would be a credit note which we would have used when we could leave Aus again.

Okay thanks all, doesn't seem much reason going on if some later flights have already had refunds!! For those who got the refunds already, did you chase them?

I had my Wizz Air flight cancelled on 25 March and finally received the refund on 4 July! We didn't chase them at all.

No. Dd didn't chase hers. I'm sure she said On the Beach has said they hadn't got the money back from RyanAir yet but they were refunding her anyway.
Does seem strange you've not got yours yet if you were to fly a month before Dd was due do go.

No didn't chase at all.

Just left them to it - if they were going to flout the law so badly I didn't think my bitching about it would help sadly.

Our flight cancelled early April - we were told by last minute it would take 6 months. We ended up doing a chargeback and finally got refund last week

Did you pay on credit card? My credit card company sorted out refunds for our May travel plans. Refunded by the start of June.
