I thought more of a toad but I can see the tortoise in him, now you mention it.

I just saw him on TV and thought tortoise.

I've always thought tortoise. I find it very distracting because whenever I see him I just think "tortoise".

Not in a judgemental way, you understand, just, "Oh, tortoise."

Until he opens his gob. Then I think other things. Some also visage-related. Some not.

Tortoise.

More like a mean-eyed bullfrog.

Don't be so tight. Tortoises - and toads and frogs - are lovely.

Cruel to tortoises surely. I'd go with toad.

Maximum toad.

I find these posts quite hateful.

What have tortoises or even bullfrogs done to deserve such a comparison.

Manolin · 28/07/2020 22:49

Yes, I’ve always thought tortoise too. Perhaps with an element of Lester Piggott.

And Zippy.

He’s always reminded me very strongly of this guy from the Disney Alice In Wonderland film.

Maybe he really is a tortoise and it's just that his mask is finally slipping.

I've always thought something in the Toad family. At least if he was a tortoise he could crawl back into his own shell.

Manolin · 28/07/2020 22:56

@Elledouble is that character called Bill or something, lizard that goes shooting up a chimney? Omg that brings back memories. The moom-raths?

Toad of Toad Hall

Why are you being so mean to tortoises...

I have a tortoise and he’s beautiful...ish 😳

But certainly much more attractive than farage

I used to have a cat called Toad, he was lovely.

So quit with Nige comparisons 🤬

Elledouble · 28/07/2020 23:01

@Manolin yes - vaguely remember Alice mournfully saying “poor old Bill” after he’s fired up into the sky...

Now I can’t unsee it. I mean...yeah. Very reptilian.

You’re all wrong. Trout. Look at those lips, and bulging glassy eyes. Singing trout.

How very dare you. I have two beautiful tortoises who are extremely offended by your comparison.
He looks like a bullfrog.

I am sorry I have offended all tortoises. We had one when I was a child. Peak Blue Peter I believe.
