Brown

Something fresh, like white or offwhite.

I have similar colours in my middle room.
We have two x 3 seater and 1 x 2 seater soft black leather settee and it looks nice.

MrsJemimaDuck Tue 28-Jul-20 19:36:53

A light blue would look nice.

Cream

A friend had this colour scheme and went for bright blue. It actually looked quite good.

Mind you he did like his bold colours grin

I'd definitely go for a blue. I don't have any fabric swatches to link to but something along the lines of this paint colour would be lovely.

In my mind a deep navy blue but from a quick look online it seems grey is popular and actually works well.

Avocado.

MaryBerrysChutney Tue 28-Jul-20 19:55:35

Navy. Or any blue.

DrebleD Tue 28-Jul-20 20:04:10

Thanks everyone so far - I was thinking either navy blue or brown (but worried brown will look old fashioned)

Paint the walls and rethink?

Teal

ChardonnaysPetDragon Wed 29-Jul-20 12:19:20

Some shades of red and pink will do nicely, depends on the orange.

TheFaerieQueene Wed 29-Jul-20 12:20:12

Tbh I would buy the sofa I liked best as it is a cap ex and repaint the wall if necessary. Paint is much cheaper than a sofa!

YessicaHaircut Wed 29-Jul-20 12:25:32

Definitely a shade of blue, as blue and orange are lovely together. Navy probably more forgiving than a lighter shade!

BellaVida Wed 29-Jul-20 12:34:56

If it’s more of a burnt orange, then I think a dark teal or mink could work well.

BarelyMerry Wed 29-Jul-20 12:36:12

@BellaVida , teal would be my suggestion as well smile

loutypips Wed 29-Jul-20 12:39:05

A 70's sofa!
I'm not sure I'd base my decision on the colour of the walls. I'd find a sofa I liked them repaint.

dudsville Wed 29-Jul-20 12:42:56

My OH wants orange walls. I'm not against the idea but no one irl that i know has done this. Can you show a pic of yours without outing yourself?

dudsville Wed 29-Jul-20 12:43:34

btw, you can also do greys, dark steel greys, can be patterned or flecked with white.
