Reusable sanitary pads

Any recommendations. DD is using period pants but worried they won’t last a whole school day so thought she could use a pad and remove that half way through the day (changing pants seems impossible as she only wears trousers).
She won’t let me make them for her btw and wants them made properly!

I love honouryourflow ones. Pricier than some but I tried cheaper ones and didn't get on with them at all

Great help. I think I only need a few anyway, we have plenty of pants. It’s just for school back up!

I've tried several brands and imse vimse are the brand that I like best. Earthwise girls is a good website to look at and they used to do selection packs with different brands to try.

I use Eco Femme pads and absolutely love them.

oh and although they seem popular, I wouldn't go for PUL backed. They are the ones that slid around and depending on the snap setting you use often the PUL is not entirely pulled under so any blood that hits the pul will not be absorbed and it can also rub your thighs. Much better to go for fleece backed and if you want the security if PUL get the ones with the hidden PUL.

How do reuseables stay put in your knickers?

Report
QueenCT · 23/07/2020 12:22

@IveSeenThings they have wings with poppers
I've just swapped to reusable pads and wish I had done it years ago

Minivivi are very good, various lengths and absorbencies depending.

If you join the fb group you also get free postage as well

So the popper just fastens on the outside of your knickers? Isn't that, ahem, uncomfortable to sit on? Don't the poppers dig in? (I don't have much padding!)

QueenCT · 23/07/2020 12:33

@IveSeenThings no, they're flat poppers and it's under your crotch so forward of where you sit IYSWIM. If you sit on your bum!

Imse vimse now do a popper-free pad. They kinda tuck into itself. Specifically for things like cycling and horseriding I think

I’ve shown DD a few. She’s deeply unimpressed by anything that isn’t just black - teenagers!

Grin

That's how i started out. I bought all black. Then i realised it was more fun to have patterns. Who'd have thought sanpro could almost make a period fun Grin

My daughter and I use weenotions peapods and yeah, they have poppers similar to the QueenCT's picture. I've never had any discomfort with them and easy to change.

Very late to this but I really like the pads from Cheeky Wipes & have a referral code for 15% off £35 if anyone can use it.
