Do you use Amazon Subscribe and Save?

I’ve been considering it for my favourite toiletries. I wouldn’t usually buy them on amazon but have a fear of not being able to buy them.

Keep an eye on the prices I've seen mine go up and whilst this is convenient it has incrementally gone up over time and I have found Boots 3 for 2 vitamin offers cheaper.

I have in the past for things like dogs worming tablets, wild bird seed etc, but I cancelled after a few deliveries. Reason being the price fluctuation.

One month the price might have been £6.50 for example, the next delivery £8.99. I assumed the subscribe and save price would be the same order on order, but apparently not.

So top tip would be to keep an eye on the prices and cancel any orders ASAP for things you know you can pick up cheaper elsewhere.

I use Amazon a lot but don’t take advantage of the subscribe and save as the price can change. If they stayed the same I would use it for kitchen roll, toilet roll etc. Now I just check the prices on my wish list and order when the price is good,

We used to, but found it so unreliable for essentials, more than once our cat food wasn't delivered (or it would pop up as delivery cancelled) so we reported it as undelivered and they'd send out a replacement but it's estimated delivery date would be 2 weeks later -no good for hungry cats! Customer service we're not interested as they said if we needed it urgently we could get it on prime. -We didn't need it urgently until you missed the delivery 2 weeks ago. We had some bath stuff for baby DD on order from them and they took 4 months to deliver it.

Sorry for jumping on here but do subscribe and save prices not stay the same as when originally ordered? I got something on a really good subscribe & save price and signed up for 3 month deliveries and now the price has jumped. Will I have to pay the more expensive amount?

@TableDesk yes the initial price is only for the first delivery, after that the price can go up or down. Obviously you are free to cancel or skip a delivery though if not happy with the price.

I set it all up for cat food but was really disappointed that the price shot up for the next delivery and it didn't stay the same so swiftly cancelled.

I’ve recently set this up for toilet rolls, dog food, deodorant, shampoo etc. Do they send you an email before it’s due so you have time to check the price and cancel if it’s too expensive?

I usually cancel mine and wait for a cheaper offer on Amazon, it’s really just a bit of a money spinner really as people pay a higher price for subsequent deliveries, it doesn’t guarantee delivery either if stuff is out of stock. I just use it to my advantage to get an initial cheaper price.

Yes I use it for kitchen roll and toilet tissue, washing pods and softener, antibacterial wipes. I find the usually small differences in price are outweighed by the convenience. I also have room to store. I've timed things so that the order arrives a few weeks before I run out. I find the Presto brand quite acceptable.
I found it reliable even during lockdown - no panic buying toilet roll here. Eventually I'd like to never have to include the cleaning/laundry aisles in the weekly shop.

Coffee pods, hair dye, vitamins,mascara, cat food and other bits and pieces that I can't recall immediately. I have it set so that I have different things each month but always have at least five items in the order so I get the maximum discount. Prices do vary now and again, but overall I find they are fairly stable and any increase is often reflected by a similar increase from other retailers.

We get senseo type coffee pods, toilet paper, olive oil, razors for me, nappy cream, laundry detergent and softener, baby bath, kitchen roll, toilet cleaner, all sorts. I watch it like a hawk though and go through once a month at least to check what we need and the prices.

It seemed convenient at first but with I had to stop as I couldn't deal with the levels of cardboard. Because I was having some big things delivered, they would all arrive in massive boxes with plenty of space inside, with the boxes packed with plastic fillers. Got sick of being overwhelmed with cardboard and cancelled the lot.
It was also unreliable. Sometimes something would not arrive but there was never any notice, and it wouldn't be delivered late, they'd just miss it that month.

The price isn't fixed so you think you're getting it cheap on your first order then a month later it's more expensive than the supermarket.

Be careful if you cancel - I cancelled a vitamin order and three weeks later got an email saying my delivery would be delayed because my payment card had expired. My order had somehow been reinstated?... I had to cancel all over again and I triple checked this time that it was done. It took a while to find the page to cancel as well, it's as if they didn't want me to find it!

I'd say give it a go. I get an email every month reminding me what is due, whether anything is out of stock and giving me an opportunity to make any changes. I have sometimes 'skipped' a delivery with no problems and have adjusted orders, also without problems.
