I am not as fit as I was 4 months ago, but apart from that - I think the opposite. I have been getting the best sleep of my adult life and very little work stress.

Catspaw123 Sat 18-Jul-20 18:48:49

Yes. Looked at pic of me on beach yesterday. I look ....old confused definitely see difference from say xmas

eyeoresancerre Sat 18-Jul-20 18:49:38

Physically yes - too much stress eating & gin drinking and no haircut in 4 months and I'm looking much older. Need to get a grip but can't! All suggestions on getting a grip would be much appreciated - I've no motivation either.blush

KitKat1985 Sat 18-Jul-20 18:54:02

Yep definitely have some more grey hairs. Months of NHS nursing and trying to juggle the kids have taken their toll. I've put on weight and have been drinking more too.

Iliketeaagain Sat 18-Jul-20 18:55:39

Almost definitely - NHS nurse.. I feel like I've aged about 20 years in the last 4 months.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee Sat 18-Jul-20 18:58:02

Yes definitely and I’ve had it very easy compared to some. Found my first grey hairs !

InsaneProbably Sat 18-Jul-20 18:59:26

I've ended up with an old woman's neck in the past few months. It's probably more because I've been doing really bad mentally, and have therefore lost weight, but it's definitely aged me.

managedmis Sat 18-Jul-20 18:59:33

Nope! I've given up drinking and lost ten pounds

readingismycardio Sat 18-Jul-20 19:02:10

I feel ashamed to even complain here after a nurse has been on this thread (thank you for your service), but I feel like it has, especially mentally (I might look a bit better physically as I've managed to shift a few kgs, but the uncertainty and the general climate it's taking a toll on my anxiety/mental health. It was actually fine when I was in complete lockdown, but now I just feel like it's never ending

Gohackyourself Sat 18-Jul-20 19:13:44

I’m ashamed to say I feel angry too.i think it’s born out of fear/anxiety but I bite at everything of late , from reading the news to how ppl behave 🙄 my frontline op job has changed enormously too and won’t be back to any near normal for a while- being tasked to something I hate.
My dp been unhappy at work but kids seem to be coping ok. I lost someone v close to me in April too.
I just looked at some photos taken today and carrying about 7/8 lbs over my normal weight ( which I still could do with being a stone lighter ) I had a haircut but feel it’s not the best, but I look worn out and feel it.
I have no answers on how to sort it, I guess it’s just time, over time as new /different normality returns I guess so does our zest return?
I can understand now my Nan saying the war aged the men and women, years of constant stress/worry.

I'm extremely snappy at the moment over the slightest thing, it's worse when I don't sleep well.

TheMumblesofMumbledom Sat 18-Jul-20 19:32:54

Since being unfurloughed I've never been so exhausted and look permanently knackered, I was less tired after childbirth and the newborn stage!

Iliketeaagain Sat 18-Jul-20 20:19:58

Nobody should be ashamed for how they feel.. lockdown has been crap for most and after 4 months it's taking its toll on everyone. I'm sure even those who were furloughed on full pay from a secure job are fed up with it now.

Doyouthinktheysaurus Sat 18-Jul-20 20:37:13

I think stress has aged me over the past few months. I'm a nurse too, have been working throughout, long hours and acute staff shortages plus pressure to do the impossible have taken their toll.

I've not managed to lose a single pound and I'm as unfit as I ever was🤣

Gohackyourself Sat 18-Jul-20 22:01:49

I even get angry that I’m getting angry angry
I was productive when not working , decorated, sorted garden, baked etc but still put on weight, I wouldn’t mind if I’d been sat on arse eating and watching Netflix !
Now I feel unfit, fat, tired and just mentally drained. I also have no plan at present to get out of it! Unless you count taking kalms tablets as a start! I don’t like feeling like this and I expected no one to reply all saying they’ve had a whale of time.In a way I enjoyed lockdown but now don’t know and fear the restart , the working being surrounded by ppl , the noise, the carelessness of some people’s behaviour or disregard meaning I have to catch the fall out. I can’t even put it all down here or even begin to explain it!!Today I had a lovely day out but the photos got me started!! I realise I’ve aged. Or turned into a grumpy old woman

I'm seriously thinking about Botox. The lack of sleep is showing.

@Gohackyourself I feel you. I lost my grandfather in June. Sorry for your loss. I can just hope things somehow improve soon...

LemonadeAndDaisyChains Sun 19-Jul-20 01:15:14

Personally, I'm the opposite
As a SAHM I've not had the stress of school on my case as eldest being a work refusing little shite
Money worries easing (school trip refunded in full) usually skint
No MIL being able to come round, take over and undermine parenting and generally stress me out
May not have much space wise, might be tiny but I have my own house and my own space and I've loved lockdown so no don't feel stressed at all, in fact it's been good for me as it's given me a break from everything that was making me feel shit/anxiety through the roof.

Yep me too. I'm quite scrawny at the moment so have to work at putting weight back on

C0rdelia Sun 19-Jul-20 03:55:49

My hair has gone completely white. Root to ends - white.

betteliefsen Sun 19-Jul-20 04:02:56

I've been less active but my diet has been healthier.

crosser62 Sun 19-Jul-20 04:09:41

Yes.
Front line nhs nurse.
The fire fighting, dread, stress, upset, vast insurmountable problems and challenges. The anxiety and panic, stomach churning sadness and distress looking after our patients every day, with the stifling ppe has had its toll.

I am grey, exhausted, had enough, tolerance tank is empty.

I feel older. I feel weaker. I feel spent and useless now.

Frustration, I couldn’t even begin to explain to you all how frustrated I am, even if I had the energy, I couldn’t.

Frownette Sun 19-Jul-20 04:09:43

Did you have some white before or is this all new?

LunaNorth Sun 19-Jul-20 04:23:48
