Kindle or Kindle Paperwhite

I have won £100 of amazon vouchers and would like to spend them on a kindle as a treat for myself. I read in bed each night to go to sleep and in the garden in the summer.

Do I go for the standard kindle and have £20 for a cover or something else. Or do I go for the paperwhite and add £30 of my own money?

Kindle users is the paperwhite worth the extra money?

TIA

I have the standard kindle with back-light and it's amazing, I feel no need for the paperwhite

The Current standard kindle is I believe what used To be the paperwhite. Ie it has the backlight which was the big selling feature of the paperwhite.

Only difference as far as I could see now is the current paperwhite is waterproof.

I got the kindle.

Thanks, from the descriptions the only real differences I could see is the paperwhite being waterproof and has 8gb storage instead of 4gb.

I don't need waterproof, do you all find the 4gb storage enough?

Yes - current paperwhite is waterproof and has double the storage. (8GB as compared to 4GB.)

I have the paperwhite but if/when it needs to be replaced I would buy the standard one.

4gb is plenty, you can remove from device but store in the cloud Thing if you need to. Then re add them later if you need to.

Four gig is enough for a thousand copies of The Lord Of The Rings, just for your peace of mind :)
